Can two broken souls heal each other

chapter 4

1 week before

Khun kan calls vegas to his room and says, ‘vegas, I am 100% sure after that conflict in the meeting korn and kinn will definitely plot something against us. We have to be alert all the time, you should take extra precautions, I don’t want to be in any trouble because of your sick behaviour, ready to open legs to any available men, huh’. Kan’s sharp comment pinched like dagger in vegas’s heart but he didn’t said anything and nodded silently in agreement. Later in the day when vegas was on the way to macau’s university he noticed a luxury car constantly behind his car, initially he thought It might be some car going the same way as his but when he stopped at university that car also stopped at a distance and again when he took macau and left the premises that car started moving again behind them while keeping a safe distance and then n there vegas became sure that he is being followed. So to keep things low he shifted all this meetings and appointments to evening and during whole day he just went to temple, for lunch, for shopping with macau, so that his follower just get bored and by the evening he used to sneak out from the other door dressed as a servant and any other bodyguard for his meetings and dealings.

On the day 3 vegas noticed that his follower is none other than that dessert he was interested in having, ‘Pete’ and it made him more exciting, ‘lets make it much more fun’. He purposely had the same monotonous daily routine to exhaust pete from not being able to find anything important. This whole routine went on for a week when finally macau asked about it and vegas replied it by saying, ‘to distract and push away a loyal dog’, ‘Dog what dog, are we being followed brother, by yazukas or by italians!!’, macau had an idea that his father and brother are dealing with these people behind major family, he just didn’t had an idea how deep it is. ‘You don’t have to worry about a thing macau just relax and enjoy the time we are spending together’, vegas said to his brother smiling and rubbing his head. For vegas macau was his whole world, he couldn’t have anything happen to him at any cost and he don’t even want him to get involve into this messy and and dangerous world, so he had tried his best until now to keep him away from all this although he know that as macau is growing it will be very difficult for him to keep him away from the things happening around him as he has already started noticing them and his father khun kan also want macau to join this absurd, disgusting and competitive world.

Vegas thought of catching pete red handed while spying, but drop the idea as he was with macau. On the evening of day 8 kinn called both big and pete and asked for the report, big told kinn that something important is going on in minor clan as khun kan is constantly visiting port and attending his meetings there rather than his usual casino office, whereas from pete’s side he had nothing new to tell besides vegas’s same to same daily routine.  

Kinn POV

‘Pete I think vegas have some clue or got some idea that he is being followed, that’s why he is just misleading you by not doing anything purposely. So, for now lets stick to the plan and within 1-2 days you both will have to go to the minor family’s house as the planned accident will take place today. So you both should get ready for that as well.’ I ordered both big and pete and after that they both excused themselves from my room.

After they both left the room I thought to myself, ‘I can’t underestimate vegas, he definitely has an idea that someone is following him or does he know that pete is the one following him, as he must have seen him several times in this house and might have recognized him when he was following him, will it be safe to send him to the minor clan’s house, because if vegas know who is following him and the same person ends in his territory it will be no less than a horror for him, everyone knows that how much of a devil and monster vegas is and he won’t leave a single opportunity to torture that person be it physical or mental. I must talk to pete now.’

I called pete to my room again, ‘may I come in khun kinn’ pete knocked at my door, ‘yes come in pete, sit down’, I am sure he could see the lines of worry on my forehead. ‘Pete I am thinking of sending someone else in your place in minor family’s house’, as soon as I finished this one line I can see that pete was able to understand my concern for him and he immediately replied, ‘no khun kinn I can handle khun vegas, I have being following him and seen him several times in various missions and at major family, I sure can take care of myself you don’t have to worry. ’

After listening to his immediate response I took a deep breath and sat just opposite to him facing his attentive eyes, ‘I know pete you are very much capable enough to take care of yourself in any given situation, its just that I think vegas knows that some one is following him and that why he is trying to mislead him by this stupid routine. I am just thinking that if he knows that it is you who is following him and after 2 days you end as his bodyguard at his house, it can result into something unexpectedly dangerous for you. You know what kind of person he is and the torturing nature of minor family is not hidden to anybody.’  I tried to explain the situation to pete although his eyes were telling me otherwise, I can’t see a single trace of fear or doubt in it, as if he was already aware of the things I am telling and yet he was ready to take it.

‘khun kinn I very much appreciate your concern for me and honestly I feel so lucky to have you as my boss who thinks so much about me and my well being, but don’t you worry, I know khun vegas and even if he knows that I have being following him, I am very capable enough to handle him. I will take care of myself. So, don’t worry khun kinn, you have trusted me with this very important mission and I am never gonna let you down.’ Pete said to me.

I admire his guts, from a lost boy with painful childhood to a determine young  man with courage and strength, pete had come a long way and there is no way I going to doubt him anymore, ‘I admire you strength pete and after this mission you can a have whole month to yourself, you must go for a trip and enjoy yourself, you have a done a lot to this family.’ I said to with smile on my face and confidence on my bodyguard. ‘Thank you so much khun kinn’, pete said to me and excused himself.

 

Pete POV

After meeting with khun kinn I came back to my room, I understood his concern for me, I know how dangerous minor family is, especially when it comes to traitors and spying, they don’t leave them alive and as much as I know khun vegas have an idea that I am following him. So me going there as his bodyguard means going in to an hungry lion’s den, but I have to do it for khun kinn’s sake and especially for my sake.

My sake !!!

Yes for my sake, because I have this unexplainable emotions which drags me towards khun vegas, pushes me towards him, makes me want to know more and more about him, even if it means risking my own life. I just can’t deny the fact there is something in him which I want to know, I don’t know what it is, but I want to know it, I want to find out this emotion, this curiosity. So for now it’s a do or die situation for me, either I’ll complete my mission or I’ll die because of my curiosity. Whatsoever to happen will happen, but right now I am ready to face it.
