Can two broken souls heal each other

The next day kin called both big and Pete and told them that today they won’t have to follow their targets, rather they both will go with him to the hospital to see both vegas and Khun kan’s bodyguard and meet them as well, so by this way he can propose to offer them Pete and big as a help for a time being. So, Pete went back to his room to get ready in his bodyguard suit. For the last few days, he was not wearing his uniform while following vegas and in just a week’s time he became comfortable in casual clothes as compared to the uniform he has to wear in the major family. But once he will be sent to the minor family he can again wear his own clothes as the minor family’s bodyguard doesn’t have any uniform. ‘ahh least they have one good thing and probably the only good thing’ Pete thought to himself while getting dressed. Pete was never much comfortable in this kind of fitted suit but he loved his job and if this was one disadvantage with it, he can bear it, because besides this there were mostly pros with his job, like his caring boss, amazing friends, respect from others and many more. He realized he wasted much time thinking about all this and he quickly got dressed and went to the main entrance where he was supposed to meet big and kinn to go to the hospital. Kinn arrived and all of them got settled in the car, big in the driver’s seat, Pete next to him and kinn on the back seat. ‘Big, Pete you both have done an amazing job till now but from here it’s going to be more difficult and dangerous, I'm telling you both again if you ever feel like your life is in danger contact me or directly comeback, I will manage from there, I don’t want my best bodyguards to get hurt although I have full faith on your capabilities.’ Kinn said while going through his iPad and before reaching the hospital he asked big to pull the car over and after this, he gave few equipments to both Pete and big, there were tiny voice recorders, cameras and walkie talkie, so that they can place them in kan and vegas’s rooms and offices and also walkie talkie to be in constant touch with each other and with kinn and with arm (you all know who arm is right).

After this they arrived at the hospital, khun kan and vegas were already there, actually kin picked that particular time so he could meet both of them as if those bodyguards were of any of his concern. As they were about to enter the room they could hear the angry shouting voice of Khun kan, he was defiantly very angry, shouting at his bodyguard as well as his own son as it was vegas’s mistake that this happened. ‘So typical of uncle kan, it's always others' mistake, not his, huh...’ kinn said after hearing all that noise and just before entering the room. Actually major family knew that all that love Khun kan shows for his sons is just a mask and he really doesn’t care for vegas or Macau, for him vegas is just a pawn to defeat the major family and he has always been disgusted by his son's choices, unlike khun korn who has been supportive to his sons and never treated them badly.

Pete POV

As we were about the enter the ward, we can hear the shoutings of Khun kan, he was angry at his peak and it was very much clear that he was accusing his injured bodyguards and his son vegas for all of this. I cannot hear any other voices besides kan’s shouting and it made me think that is vegas is ok with all this insult, blame and disgusting stuff his father is pouring on his ear. I don’t know why I just wanted to open this door as quickly as could and see if vegas is ok and because of this excitement, I literally grabbed the Khun kinn hand on the door knob, as he was already holding it to open and it suddenly gave me shock and brought me back to reality. As just I hold Khun kinn’s hand, he looked at me with a very confusing look, so to cover up my stupidity, I said, ‘sorry khun, I thought of opening the door for you', this was the best line I could think of right now although this excuse didn’t convince Khun kinn and big as kinn’s hand was already on the knob. But let it be I embarrassed myself and I cannot do anything anymore.

As soon as we entered the room, khun kan got startled and stopped shouting, suddenly bringing a fake smile on his face after seeing his nephew in the same room, whereas my focus was on vegas, as soon as we entered I saw him standing beside his father with his face down towards the ground, constantly rubbing his hand and after our sudden entrance when his raised his eyes and looked up, his eyes were of a little boy wHo was sad with his father’s scolding, those sad eyes showed the emotion of the upset little boy, even just for few seconds I was able to get hold of his eyes and scared personality, but after seeing us entering he suddenly changed his body language and within seconds from sad boy he became that cunning manipulative heir of the minor family. If I hadn’t paid this much of attention to him which I pay and which I shouldn’t but I still pay, I would have never even realized that there can be a scared, lost version of vegas, which is most probably hidden from this world.

Vegas POV

Both my and my father’s bodyguard got into the accident yesterday and they both are in hospital with serious injuries and here I am in hospital with my father listening to all those things like always it’s again my fault. It happened because I was not alert enough to prevent this situation, we all know that It’s done by a major family, but we don’t have any evidence to accuse them and here is my father again comparing me to kinn, like how capable he is that he always get done whatever he want and how big of an idiot I am that I lose each and every time from him. He is shouting at me in full anger and if we had not been in hospital and these bodyguards were not have been here, he wouldn’t even hesitate in beating the shit out of me, actually, he has done that as well in front of other bodyguards but I guess since this is a hospital and can get treated immediately so that why he might have thought not to waste any physical energy on me, just vocal will do for now.

But for once, just for once, I want my father to stop comparing me to kinn, to stop making me feel like a loser, like an unwanted shit, like a burden he has to carry for the sake of this ridicules major-minor clan competition. For once I want to feel the warmth of the fatherly concern, I want to hear just one praise, for once just for once I want to hear ‘well-done vegas’  from his mouth. I don’t think I am asking for too much, but it’s already too much for him to accept the fact that I and Macau are his biological sons, so expecting anything else from him is just like those dreams which never come true.

As I was hearing my father’s curses and digging holes in the ground by just looking down, suddenly the door of the room opened and kinn entered with his 2 bodyguards, one was big, notoriously known for his temper and overprotective attitude towards major family and the other one was Pete, that smiling boy and as they suddenly entered the room my eyes got locked with Pete's eyes as if he entered while looking for me and caught me with my bare emotions and within few seconds I realized it and changed my behavior to my usual self, but deep inside I was not able to forget Pete's eyes, even it was just for few seconds, it seems he tried to look inside me through my eyes. ‘What is this, why I am thinking so much, it was just a few seconds, even less than a few seconds, I am just imaging things, I have to focus on Porsche to put kinn down’, I told to myself. ‘But those eyes why can’t I forget those eyes…’
