"Holy Angel." She whispered. She broke their intense eye contact and walked towards the seat assigned to her. The moment she sat down, her eyes locked with his again but then she turned her gaze away.
Lie. That is what Archfiends do. She thought.
The entire meeting she didn't cast a single glance towards Azrozan. He however could not remove his eyes from her. The only time he removed his eyes from her was when he was asked a question.
"So the land of Sydney would be under Berretta and Archfiend clan will have Queensland, Agreed?" The chief said.
"Agreed." Cassiel said.
"Agreed." Ramiel said.
"Brilliant. So it is settled. Thank you ladies and gentlemen." He said and stood up. The others followed and everyone exited the room.
"Wait for me by the car; I will be down in a minute." Seraphina heard Azrozan say.
She knew he would try to talk to her but the last thing she wanted was to be alone with him. She doesn't know whether she will kiss him or punch him.
She followed her father and sister into the elevator but before the elevator door could close, her eyes locked with Azrozan. She stopped the elevator door.
"What is it Sera?" Her father asked.
"I forgot my phone. You both wait for me in the car. I will be right back." She said and exited the elevator without waiting for a reply.
She started walking towards the conference room but then she felt a hand on her forearm and was pulled in a small room by Azrozan.
"What the hell?!"She screamed but her scream was muffled by Azrozan's hand.
"Don't use that word like that in front of an Archfiend." he said, a smirk playing on his lips. She pushed him off her and took a few steps back without saying anything.
"Care to explain, why you lied?" he started.
"I lied?! If I remember clearly I was not the one who said they were a Heathen! You lied to me, Azra. " she snapped.
"You didn't tell me the truth either. That is lying." He said, anger slowly coming to his voice.
"I never told you my clan." She said.
"Exactly, a lie of omission is still a lie Sera." He snapped.
"At least I omitted the truth. You had the audacity to lie directly to my face." She literally screamed.
"What was I suppose to do? Tell you the truth and have my night ruined by a naïve Berretta!" his voice rose too.
"Watch your tongue. I wouldn't have continued the conversation if I knew." She said.
"You could've said something too but you chose to lie." He snapped.
"Like I said, I did not lie." She said through gritted teeth.
The two stared into each other's eyes intently. None of them backing down from the intense eye contact.
"I kissed you Sera. I betrayed my family, my clan." His voice was a little softer.
"I did the same thing Azra." She whispered.
"Why did you lie?" she asked.
"I couldn't reveal my identity to a stranger just before a land distribution meeting." He said and looked down.
"I only lied about my name Azra. It's not Sera. It's Seraphina." She said.
"I lied about that too. It's Azrozan not Azra." He said.
