"So, what exactly is the plan?" Azrozan asked as Seraphina brought the engine to life.
"I forgot about that." She murmured.
"What was that?"
"I forgot to plan." Her candor made the man in the passenger seat face palm.
"Sera, do want to get us killed? If yes then I have quicker and less painful ways of doing so." He said.
"You're being dramatic; we're not dying."
"You sure six winged?" he sassed.
Her grip tightened on the wheel at the name. Going back without a concrete plan somewhere means having to face Malachi. Due her lack of connection back home, she had no idea about Malachi's reaction to her escape.
"Do not call me that." She said.
"Why?"
"Malachi used to call me that."
"How much time did you spend with the man; for him to have literal pet names for you?" he asked.
"Once was enough."
"Enough?"
"Yep, enough for him to have pet names and for me to know that I gotta run." She replied. His demeanor stiffened at her admission.
"Sera did he harass you in any way?" he asked.
"As if that fucker has the balls to harass a royal." She gritted. He remained silent but never took off his gaze from her.
"He was creepy; he said something about our marriage being a way of him getting money and a body to keep him warm." She confessed; her eyes fixed on the road ahead.
"Just like his wife?" he scoffed.
"Something along those lines."
"Was he planning on cheating on you too, you know to drive you to kill yourself?"
"That actually wasn't the case. It wasn't a suicide, not technically anyway." She told him.
"Wait what?" he asked, perplexed.
"Long story my murk."
"Well we have a long ride back."
"I was hoping you'd sleep and I can drive in silence."
"Hah! As if!" he said and waited for her to start the story.
The pair of exiles reached the central area in time for it to be dark enough for them to find refuge easily. Azrozan parked the car outside the motel.
"This should be safe enough for the night. Tomorrow we figure out a way to contact Talini and sort this entire thing." He said. She nodded and glanced at the motel; it looked average but would still work for one night.
"You head inside; get us a room. I will go get something to eat." He said.
"Okay, be safe and come back soon and in one piece." She said and stepped out of the car.
He decided to drive a little far away from the angel area; considering their strictness with time, there was a high chance that he might not get any food tonight.
After wandering the outskirts for about twenty minutes he found a diner open. He parked the car and exited the vehicle to get some much needed fuel.
He entered the diner and immediately checked for the sigil of either of the clans. He proceeded to walk towards the counter when he found none.
"What can I get you sir?" he was asked.
"Two chicken meal take aways." Azrozan replied.
"Right sir, twenty minutes; you can wait in the outer lounge."
