Abdiel's surgery consisted of more than just a few complications. There were enough complications for the post surgery coma to exceed from twenty four hours to fifty four hours.
Azrozan hadn't talked about Cael with anyone. Last night the news showed that they found his body and are still searching for the killer. The obvious suspicion was the Archfiend considering a motive of vengeance for shooting their royal.
He looked outside the hospital window trying to find some peace by looking at the early evening sky. He was pulled out of his state of trying when the beeping of the monitors became irregular. He rushed to his brother's side; trying to understand.
His eyes raked over his brother's figure in panic but they began to calm down once they landed on Abdiel's fluttering eyes; he was waking up.
"Diel?" he said. When he received a squeeze on his hand he immediately called the doctors. A crowd of medical experts rushed in and tended to their patient.
Azrozan was asked to leave the room which he did with great reluctance. He came out and informed his family of the news. His eyes locked with Azazal who looked really uncomfortable.
"They know a royal killed Cael." Azazal said to him.
Abdiel's eyes were fixed to the ceiling when Azrozan entered the room followed by Ramiel and Rusalka.
"You okay boy?" Rusalka asked as she took a seat near her eldest son; running her fingers through his hair.
"I've seen better days."Abdiel rasped out.
"You had us starting a damn rampage out there son." Ramiel said.
"I would surely love the attention and the angst." Abdiel joked.
Azrozan let out a shuddering breath at his brother's comment; always the comedian when in pain. Ramiel grabbed Azrozan's wrist and squeezed it in order to bring his son back to the present.
"We will let you rest; Azrozan is staying with you." Rusalka said.
"Ooh I get to use my sibling to the bone; exciting." Abdiel said making his parents chuckle.
"You being that broody when I actually managed to survive makes me think of what would have happened if I hadn't" Abdiel said once their parents were out of the premise.
"I don't want to think about that." Azrozan replied.
"Dad mentioned a rampage; you started it didn't you?" Abdiel asked.
"You don't need to worry about that." Azrozan said and settled himself on the stool.
"Oh but I do; I know for fact you went out looking for the shooter."
"Can you recognize the shooter?"
"I know he was a Berretta."
"And a royal, he had a sigil bullet."
"So you were looking for him?"
"He shot my brother. Nobody gets away without paying for that." Azrozan gritted.
Before Abdiel could counter further with his brother, a panting Azazal barged through the door. He was panting so hard; he had to bend down and rest on his knees in order to gain some mobility.
He tried speaking through raged breaths but to no avail.
"Hey now! breathe." Azrozan said as she stepped closer to him.
"What is happening?" Abdiel asked.
"They..." it was getting hard for Azazal to catch his breath.
"Give him water." Abdiel commanded. Azrozan handed him the bottle and he chugged it down like his life depended on it.
