"Don't make any noise. Otherwise, they will hear us," Jack says.

We are both hiding from nightmares in a small closet and I start to wonder how we even got here in the first place.

Jack and I flew to the hiding spot in a very awkward silence. Both of us didn't want to talk because we didn't know what to talk about.

After we got to the hideout, we tried to be as quiet as possible since we heard a noise from the inside. Jack said that he needed to go in first. When I asked him why, he got all nervous.

"Because if something were to happen to me, you would have to get the Guardians," He said.

He did have a point but the tone that he said it in made me believe otherwise. I stayed outside until he sent snowflakes flying to the sky, signaling me that the coast was clear. But just when I got inside, we were both already surrounded by nightmares that apparently Trista left to guard the place.

We managed to get away. Sort of. And now we are inside a small closet, trying out best to stay quiet.

We could attack them with our powers. But any evidence that we were here could mess up the plan.

"It's not like I'm the one talking-" I whisper back but he shushes me. I roll my eyes and continue to hear.

Then a noise comes closer and try to sink into the corner where I'm standing. As if it's going to do anything.

Out of nowhere, Jack grabs my arm and pulls me towards him, wrapping his arms around me.

"What are you-"

"Shhh," he whispers.

The nightmare opens the door on the side that I was standing in and I hold my breath at the thought that it almost got me. The nightmare doesn't bother to look around the closet and shuts the door.

I sigh in relief. We were so close to getting caught. The nightmares could tell Trista about our break in, but they wouldn't have any proof that we were here so that gives us an advantage to listen to what her plan is.

"Um, Y/N?" I look up at him and he is blushing really hard.

I feel myself turn red and step back from him immediately. "O-oh, sorry!"

"No, it's fine," he says. "Sorry for pulling you like that."

"No, you actually saved me. Thank you," I smile.

He frowns and looks away and that makes me wonder if thanking him was a good idea.

"Come on we need to get out of here," I tell him.

He nods and I open the door carefully, checking for any nightmares. When I see that the coast is clear, I get out with Jack following behind me.

Suddenly, I feel a cold hand on mine and I look behind to see Jack with such a frightened expression that it makes me more alert to see if he saw something. He squeezes my hand and that's when I realize that he's actually scared of the dark. I guess I will just let him hold my hand then.

We both fly up into a good spot in the ceiling and wait here for something to happen. And Jack is still holding my hand and sitting close to me.
