2 days later
Luke
We were all dressed and ready for her funeral. It was hosted in a place she would have loved. A peaceful, quiet and empty park, perfect for reading and writing.
For the past two days, we've all been wrecks. Crying left and right, calling constantly. Now we were at the funeral. And soon we would make our speech.
"Can I please have Alva's friends come up here," asks Alva's mom, "Courtney McAllister, Luke Duncan, Jamie Hamilton and Adora Todd."
We all come up, we'd planned this speech to be special for Alva. For her cremated body.
"Hello, I'm Courtney, and right here standing with me I have Adora, Jamie and Luke," Courtney begins, "We are Alva's best friends."
"We would like to make a speech about Alva, each of us," Jamie goes on, "Alva was a friend of mine. She was amazing, and changed the way our entire group was. Drama destroyed us, sure, but we built ourselves back up stronger."
I say, "She had a crush on me. I rejected her but I am truly sorry for it. I never wanted to hurt her. I just wanted to be her friend and protect her like the rest of us."
Adora follows, "Alva knew me. I was closest to her, and I loved her.. as more than a friend, even. Another death to COVID. But she's an amazing person, not a number like some people say."
Courtney goes last, "Alva was amazing. Our best friend. She fit in with us like the puzzle piece we needed. And even after she died, I still thought of our friend group as 5, not 4 like you're seeing now. You see, she was our friend and we loved her. Thank you for giving us your time."
And we walked away.. together.
A/N: this chapter really shows how this friendgroup is so true and amazing! I've honestly never really liked groups of five just because I've been in two and they both aren't a thing now, and they both had so much toxicity, but this group is an exception. I hope you enjoyed this ALMOST ENDING chapter!' 😢❤️
