Chapter 43: Charlotte vs Lux

Lux swung her chained Splattershots at Charlotte, and the Octoling quickly dodged the weapons and jumped to the side, shooting a burst of her Cherry H-3. Lux moved her head to avoid the shots just as she pulled her chained weapons back over to herself before smirking and swinging only a single splattershot at Charlotte, using her other to shoot directly at the Octoling.

Charlotte avoided the shots and quickly evaded Lux's blade by catching her splattershot and aggressively stabbing it into the ground in front of her. Lux tugged onto her splattershot, but it didn't budge from the ground in front of Charlotte. She gave Charlotte a chuckle before using her own might to pull herself roughly and her momentum from her pinned chain blade to launch her own body towards Charlotte, extending her leg and attempting to kick her, but Charlotte managed to dodge, only receiving a slight scratch on the side of her head.

Lux flew past Charlotte, and Charlotte let out a tiny grunt of annoyance, grabbing onto Lux's chain and pulling her quickly towards her by force. Lux's plan backfired and Charlotte forced her body to quickly launch in the opposite direction back towards her with no control.

Charlotte held out her Cherry H-3, then shot directly at Lux, but to her surprise, Lux reacted in time to spin her body quickly enough to avoid her bursts from her weapon.

Charlotte:.....(she still managed to dodge........how.....)

Lux chuckled slightly and within the second her and Charlotte were next to each other, she stopped all of her momentum by stomping and dragging her shoe on the ground until she stopped right up close and personal with Charlotte. Lux quickly swung her heel from behind to hit Charlotte, but she quickly evaded and responded with her burst of shots.

Lux used her forearm to push Charlotte's H-3 away from her face and pointed her own splattershot at her, only for Charlotte to grab onto her wrist and forcefully move it away from her body, leaving the two at a stalemate, staring directly in each other's eyes.

Lux: you've gotten better at avoiding my attacks, Char! Hmph! Hard work and dedication! That's what I like to see!

Charlotte: don't talk to me as if you care.......shut your mouth.......

Lux: *giggles* still a party pooper, huh?......I'm just tryna lighten the mood a bit.

Lux brought up her knee to hit Charlotte from below, but Charlotte barely managed to move her head back, only being scratched by the inkling's fast attack. From this moment, Lux pulled her splattershot from Charlotte and her other splattershot from the ground, then threw two burst bombs towards Charlotte.

Charlotte glared at the two bombs and got ready to dodge, but to her surprise, Lux used her splattershot and swung it from a distance towards her legs, forcing her to jump over the weapon, and managed to barely avoid one of the burst bombs in the process.

Within that split second, Charlotte looked up after avoiding Lux's attack, only to see her other chained Splattershot swinging towards her upper body, and upon that chain was her other burst bomb, curving and tracing across her chain from her splattershot, sliding off and hitting her directly on her face, shocking Ami and Sho within the crowd, making him slam his hands in disbelief.

Ami: what the hell!? The burst bomb just....fucking.....what!!?

Cecelia: she used one burst bomb and her chained attack as a distraction to get Charlotte to jump....putting her in a very bad position......and it allowed her to curve her other burst bomb's trajectory by gliding it across her chain.......

Ami:....the fuck?........what type of cheap tactic is that?.......

Cecelia:.....Looks like she's gotten new tricks since last year.....
