Chapter 54: Just One More Kiss

That night.........the night of the Inkopolis ball was a experience for many......providing unforgettable memories......but while Echo sees it as the worst night in her entire life.....Bella was the complete opposite.......

She saw that night as the best night of her life.....but she was too embarrassed to admit that to anyone.....especially........to the sole octoling who even gave her that beautiful experience..........

She stood in front of that Octoling's front door......and her heart thumped within her chest from her nervousness and embarrassment..........she looked down, but felt her overgrown bangs flop in front of her eyes awkwardly, and she gently pushed them out of her sight while raising her other hand, knocking on the door gently.......

She opened her mouth to call for her name.....but stopped herself......and simply let out a tiny sigh.....both of her hands soon fell to her sides, and she unintentionally looked down once again, making her bangs block her vision for the second time, which only made Bella grumble adorably as she moved her bangs again.

Bella: should've gotten my hair cu-

Just then, the door knob wiggled and began to turn, making Bella freeze up like a statue.....and she shifted her attention to the crack in the door, seeing it slowly widen before her.....

And then.....she saw her.......Bella's eyes widened when she finally laid her eyes directly onto the Octoling.....Yumi........and she looked.....exactly like her.........broken........and lost.......

Yumi's golden eyes weren't bright and beautiful like before.....but rather more dull and blended in with the slight view of her red outlines from her constant crying........

Tear streaks were super noticeable, yet dried up on her face, and just like her, Yumi's tentacles were completely messy and ruffled as well as being overgrown and inching slightly lower down her arms than usual.

Yumi's eyes widened after seeing Bella stare back at her with an embarrassed smile while brushing away her bangs with a tiny chuckle.

Bella: h-hey Yumi.....

Yumi didn't respond back to Bella, and she instead tried to close the door quickly in front of Bella, but the Inkling quickly jammed her shoe and grabbed the door to keep Yumi from closing it, trying to squish her face inside.

Bella: Yumi wait!!

Yumi: please....leave me alone....

Bella: you know I can't....*grunt* do that.

Yumi:......I.....I don't want you to see me like this....

Bella: like what? messy, upset and lost?......I literally look exactly the same.

Yumi:.....

Bella: please....I just wanna talk.....I haven't had an actual conversation with you in sometime now....I know you're hurting inside......and I......I-I am too.....

Yumi saw Bella sigh and look down, clenching the door harder than before....giving Yumi a pure look on how pale her skin as truly become.....

Bella:......I'm begging here......just please.....let me inside....

Yumi hesitated......but then let out a sigh of her own as she opened the door and allowed Bella to stand properly to walk inside.

Bella: thanks....

Bella saw Yumi only walk away from her without giving her a response back, which only made her uncomfortably walk inside and close the door behind herself, then began to look around Yumi's apartment.

Bella: wow...I don't think I've ever actually stepped foot in your apartment before......it looks very nice.....

Yumi: Mhm...
