Chapter 9

Y/n investigation went smooth. Nobody saw through her transformation. She had embraced Iruka's persona pretty well. Thanks to that, she had found some things that could come in handy.

So that morning she wasn't in a hurry. Last night, Y/n had heard someone talk about a certain, silver haired jounin, arriving late habit. So she took her time to take a warm bath, eat delicious breakfast and selected very carefully the best weapons in her possession.

After getting into her uniform, she took a long stroll. Her sensory skill were activated in case Kakashi was around, taking the long route to the meeting spot.

When she arrived Naruto jumped from were he was seating, and pulled Y/n into a hug. Y/n was confused. "Naruto?" She patted his back in comfort.

Naruto let go. He gripped her shoulders. "Why are you late, Y/n?" He shook her. "I thought you weren't coming!" Maybe Kakashi wasn't wrong about throwing up. "I got so worried!" He hadn't gone to her house, because he woke up late himself and thought she would have left already.

Having enough, Y/n threw her arms up, and jumped backwards. She almost fell when she landed, but an arm around her waist saved her. Y/n closed her eyes and shook her head, so the thing on her head could go on their rightful place.

When she opened them, she was face to face with Naruto. Y/n furrowed her eyebrows and pointed a finger at him. " Don't do that again." She warned him. Naruto laughed sheepishly. "I am not late." She crossed her arms. All her teammates raised their eyebrows. "You guys are early." Naruto let go of her, his jaw on the floor. The other two were on the state.

Y/n smirked. She knew she was right. "Naruto I need.." she was interrupted by her sensei's arrival. Y/n sigh. She didn't know how to tell Naruto, her plan now.

"Hey guys, Good morning!" Y/n was unimpressed. Kakashi Hatake was always late, except for important things like missions. His actions today and yesterday proved Y/n that he didn't take them seriously.

"You're late!" Naruto and Sakura screamed on the same time. Sasuke said it, as his stoic self. Y/n shook her head, while Kakashi-sensei said a stupid excuse, a knowing smile on her lips.

They lined up, facing their sensei. He set an alarm clock at noon. Y/n hated those. "Here are three bells." He showed them. "Your task is to take these from me before the time's up." Like that was easy! "Those who don't have a bell by noon.." Get a second tour into the Academy? ",, Get no lunch." That was not Y/n problem.
"I'll not only tie you to those stumps, but I'll also eat in front of you." Her teammate's stomach growled, Y/n was unaffected by the threat.

Kakashi started at her. He clearly suspected something.
"You only have to get one bell" He continued. His face was serious and intimidating.
"There are only three bells, so one of you will differently be tied to the stump." This wasn't all about a lunchbox.
" And the person that doesn't take the bell fails." It was about to prove your worth..
"So at least one of you'll be sent back to the Academy." ..And that you were ready to be a Shinobi.
"If you want you can use shuriken and kunai." Even if he said it lightly, a shinobi could die any moment on a mission. "You won't succeed unless you come at me with the intending to kill." Y/n had planned to do just that.

"But!" Sakura screamed. Y/n covered her ears. She had forgotten Sakura was there, a mistake from her part. "You will die!" Y/n face palm. As if some Academy students could kill a former anbu.

'Did I forget to tell them that? Ups!' She didn't have time, that was her excuse.

Naruto had to remember that stupid prank he pulled the day before. 'Why are you being cocky now!' This wasn't the time to angry someone, who had their future in the palm of their hand.

"In the real world, those with no talent bark the loudest." Ouch. That did strike a nerve.
"Well. Ignore Mr. Dead last and start when I say.." Naruto was fuming, and It happened fast. Naruto took a kunai, ready to attack Kakashi and the next moment Kakashi was behind him. His grip tight in Naruto's wrist, his other hand on the back of Naruto's head. "Calm down.." Y/n eyes didn't leave her sensei. Her stance was defensive. "Well, it seems you're finally prepared to come at me with the intent to kill." In this situation he wasn't the prey, he was the predator. "So you're finally acknowledging me?" Y/n never took her opponent likely.

Kakashi snickered. "It's seems like I'm beginning to like you guys." He was a predator that liked to play with his prey. "Ok, let's get going.." but Y/n was not an easy prey. "Ready.." If her sensei wanted them to be go with the intent to kill. "Begin!" Y/n will give him that and a piece of her mind.

Y/n jumped and hide into the bush, cancelling her presence perfectly. She looked in the opened area she and saw Naruto.

'Naruto, you idiot!' She screamed mentally. Her plan was ruined. Naruto had to choose this moment not to use his brain.

Kakashi had pulled out his book. It was what had inspired Y/n plan to begin with. Her sensei shamelessly read an adult romance novel in public. She thought Naruto's 'sexy jutsu' would work as a great distraction, for her to get the bells, but no, that knucklehead had to stupid today of all day.

Y/n only hoped he remember to use it. She had to be patient maybe there was going to be an opening.
Naruto was in disadvantage. There was a big gap in both, skills and experience between them.

Kakashi used a wired technique to make Naruto fly. 'That must have hurt.' She felt bad for her best friend. A part of hers told her to go and help him, but she couldn't, not yet.

Naruto used 'Kage bushin no jujutsu', it was an opportunity, if played out well. Y/n had her kunai in hand, itching to cut the lace and get the bells. She waited for Naruto's punch, Kakashi didn't let that happen .

If she wasn't focusing on her sensory skill, she would have been in the opening right now. It was frightening how a single second could decide someone fate. Kakashi's chakra from Naruto's grip, had gone on another location. Y/n was so glad to have picked up on that change or her position would have been blown.

Naruto was still moving in the opening. He was no go. What she could do now was convince Sasuke to help her, they both were good at fighting. Sakura could join because of Sasuke, as the distraction. Her screams were the loudest. If Naruto wasn't attracting much attention, she could pull her initial plan to work, and everyone will be happy. With Sasuke chakra under her radar she disappeared from her spot.

The prey was on the move.
