Chapter 18

After Arya rushed out of the door her best friend shuffled back into the living room to find Peter. 

"Peter! Where'd she go? Is she here?" the older boy asked, walking over to him.

Peter shook his head in reply, "She went for a walk,"

Peter sighed slightly and nodded.

"She's really hurt you know,"

"I know.."

"So why'd you do it?" 

"I don't know"

"Yes, you do" The younger boy retorted, knowing enough about people to know you don't do something like that without a reason.

"I don't know... I just"

"Arya said you've moved on" Peter spoke, "So did you really?'

"Yes! I mean I thought I did, but hearing about the portals just sparked something in me, opened a wound" he explained, feeling utterly full of guilt. 

"Well? What are you gonna do now? you've got a dead girl standing in your living room and your girlfriend roaming the streets if she even still wants to be your girlfriend anymore" Peter spoke.

"Sorry" the younger one added after receiving a glare from the older one. 

"I need to talk to Gwen, I, I just need closure" he explained, rubbing his hands along his forehead as stress filled his senses.  

Peter shot him a look, a bit disappointed that he wasn't choosing Arya, "Well, you better make it quick, I'm sure Arya walking in on that won't make things any better" 

Peter nodded before walking back into the living room to find Gwen sitting on the end of his couch looking puzzled. 

Peter walked over to where she was sitting and sat opposite her, "I know you must be really confused right now-"

"You're supposed to be dead" Gwen spoke, cutting him off. "Peter, you're supposed to be dead"

Peter's eyes widened, his brows furrowing in confusion, "What?"

"You died in my arms, but yet you're here in front of me" she explained

"I know this is confusing but I can explain-"

"Confusing!? You were dead!" 

"Gwen, this is an alternate universe, you aren't from here, you're dead in my universe too" he explained, deciding to state it bluntly as she wasn't listening. 

"What? like a multiverse?" She asked, her brown full of confusion

Peter nodded, "Yes exactly like that"

"But, how is that even possible?"

"I can't exactly tell you myself," he said, "I'm sorry,"

The two sat there silently for a moment, "We were..? in this universe too?"

Peter nodded

"Is that why you brought me here?" 

Peter nodded once more as a slight blush erupted on Gwen's pale cheeks sending a pang into Peter's heart. 

Before Peter could speak again a scoff was heard behind him. He turned around to see Arya glaring at the two of them, anger and hurt apparently on her face.

Peter sighed softly, "Arya wait-"

"Don't even Peter" she spat back before storming back to the guest room instead of the room they shared.

After emerging back into the house from her walk she was a bit calming, but that didn't last very long. Arya walked into the living room to see Peter and Gwen sitting together talking, Gwen blushing in front of Peter.

Feelings of Anger and Hurt instantly flooded Arya and she let out a soft scoff before storming back to the guest room. 

"Arya wait-"

"Don't even Peter" she shot back, continuing to walk past him 

Arya shut the door and sat on the bed, a long frustrated breath leaving her mouth.

She couldn't be more conflicted. He swore to her that he had moved on, Arya didn't want to be with him if he still loved Gwen, she had told him that, yet he swore to her he moved on.

But clearly, that couldn't be the case, for god sake, she was sitting in his living room blushing,  probably at something, Peter had said. 

Arya let a few tears escape her eyes before she shook her head and took a long breath, she wouldn't let him affect her like this. 

Arya had been so dead set on finding a way for Peter to come back with her, but now, she wasn't so sure he should even come with her at all.
