Chapter 9

"I believe you," she spoke.

Arya watched as the boy's eyes lit up, "You do?,"

She nodded, looking around the room, staying silent for a moment, she hadn't even noticed the two others had left the room. 

"Peter?,"

"Yeah?,"

"Will you tell me about him?," she asked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. 

"About Peter?," He clarified.

Arya nodded, she wanted to know more about the boy, it made her upset to know she had forgotten her best friend, not to mention that the coffee shop interaction made a lot more sense now.

"Yeah, Yeah sure," he agreed, he could tell she was visibly upset.

"I don't know everything, just what you told me about him, and what I saw of you two," he clarified.

Arya nodded, watching the boy.

"You told me you met him very young, your mother was friends with his aunt, May, so you guys were friends from childhood,"

"Wait...Do you mean my may? that's Peter's aunt?" she asked, her face filling with realization.

Peter nodded.

"That's why he was at her grave, he told me he knew her through spiderman," She said softly. "Sorry keep going,"

Peter gave her a sympathetic smile, placing his hand upon hers supportively, Arya's cheeks turning a bit red.

"Yeah, anyway, you said you guys were best friends, but you never had anything romantically because he was like your brother," he explained. "You were the first person he told about being spiderman,"

"Really?," Arya asked, a smile forming on her face.

"Yeah, from what I saw you guys were really close," he told her.

Arya nodded, "I feel horrible, he came into the cafe to see us, now it all makes sense, he's all alone." She said, frowning slightly.

Peter looked at her, "I'll make sure you see him again, I promise," he said as he stood up, Arya doing the same.

Arya gave him a grateful smile, "Thank you, Peter," She spoke as she wrapped her arms around the boy, giving him a grateful hug, "For telling me about him, for helping me,"

Peter was a bit stunned as he turned a bit red, butterflies filling his stomach. He quickly returned the hug, wrapping his arms around her waist. 

Oh had he missed this...

"Of course," Peter spoke, he'd do anything for her.

Arya almost forgot she was hugging him, it felt natural. It felt perfect.

"Peter? Oh my apologies," A voice spoke, interrupting them.

"Oh sorry," she spoke awkwardly as she pulled away, glancing towards the doctor as he entered the room, Max giving peter a proud smile.

Peter just smiled at the girl before walking over to the two, Arya following close behind. 

"Alright, I hate to be the bringer of bad news but I have no clue where to start, I mean this is clearly sorcerer magic, we don't have that. It seems like Arya got here randomly so the only way I can see her getting back is another random portal," Dr. Connors spoke

"But we don't know when the next time that will happen is, or if it even will." Arya spoke, "I can't stay here forever. 

Dr. Connors gave her a sympathetic smile, "I know but right now that's all I have, I'll look into it more, try to figure something out, I'm sorry I can't be much help right now," he spoke.

Peter nodded, "it's alright, thank you, maybe we'll come back tomorrow?"

Max nodded, "Maybe that's a good idea, we'll look into it while you're gone,"

Arya looked between them nervously, she can't stay here, she doesn't belong, "Do you guys not any magic people?" 

"Nope, not that we know of" Max spoke.

Arya sighed heavily but nodded defeatedly, "okay, well thank you anyway, should we go Peter?,"

Peter nodded, "Yeah, we can go back to the house, you can stay with me until we figure out how to get you back,"

Arya furrowed her eyebrows, "Are you sure? I'm not your responsibility you shouldn't feel obligated to let me stay,"

Peter just shook her off, "No no no, I mean I made a promise didn't it?" 

A smile formed on Arya's face, "Alright, yeah you did," she spoke, smiling at the boy.

All feelings of resentment and suspicion she had for the boy had left her, she quickly became fond of the boy. 

"Shall we go?" he asked.

"We shall"
