A/N: here's a bit of a longer chapter for you all! I hope you like this, getting to see a bit more of Eddie in this one :)~~~~~
"We also have a bunch of new releases over here." Steve said as he guided two giggling girls over to the new release isle.
"I don't understand how he could do this." Stacey said and shook her head, leaning her arms on the counter.
"Well, they don't look bad, don't you think?" Robin replied.
"I don't mean that," Stacey replied. "I just mean in general."
"I don't get what you're saying?" Robin replied with a confused look on her face.
"Just acting as if everything is normal. Whilst Chrissy just got brutally murdered and Eddie is hiding from the police." She frustratedly ran her hands through her hair.
Robin sighed. "What do you want to do then? Just stay with him the whole day?"
"I don't know... I don't know, okay? But I just feel like we've to do something." She stood up straight.
"And we will," Robin replied. "Just... just give it time. We will get the actual killer."
Stacey just sighed and shook her head in reply. "Do you mind if I go for a little break? Could just really use a cigarette right now."
"Sure, go ahead." Her coworker nodded.
"You're an angel." Stacey smiled and grabbed her pack of cigarettes from her bag and walked outside. She leaned against the brick wall of the building, looking out over the parking lot. It was quite packed, but it seemed like most people were at the arcade right now."Are you okay?" She heard from beside her after a minute. It was Steve.
"What are you doing here?" Stacey asked as she took another inhale. "Don't you need to look for a girlfriend?"
Steve just gave her a look. "Someone's being grumpy today." He huffed and leaned against the wall as well, placing one foot against it and crossing his arms.
"Sorry," she sighed and blew out another cloud of smoke. "I'm just a little on edge. Alright?"
"Understandable." Steve replied. He thought it was better not to argue with her right now. "And they were like 16."
"What?" She looked at him in confusion.
"Those girls. They were like 15, 16 years old. I'm not going to hit on them. They're way too young." He shook his head.
Stacey chuckled. "At least you've got some decency in you, Harrington. That's nice to see."
"Hey, I'm a very decent person." He replied and nudged her playfully.
"I'm just teasing you, Harrington." She laughed and took one last drag of her cigarette before throwing it on the floor and crushing it with her converse."Well, well, if it isn't King Steve himself." A familiar voice said, mockingly.
They both looked up. It was Billy.
"What do you want?" Steve sighed.
"Hey, easy, I'm just here to return my VHS, nothing more." He held up his hands in defence, looking at Stacey, who smiled back at him nervously. She knew they absolutely hated each other.
"I have to say, I liked the other outfit better." Billy said as he looked back at Steve. "The little sailor thing, you know?" He smirked.
"Oh shut up and return your damn video tape, man." Steve said annoyed.
"You're not in a very chit chatty mood, are you, Harrington?" Billy replied, seeming to rather enjoy this.
"No I'm not. Unlike you. If I remember correctly you always are, you were always talking during the game. Can't you just shut your mouth for one freaking minute? Or are you scared you won't get enough attention?" Steve spat back, standing up straight. Billy and him were about the same height, and even though Steve was quite a sportsman, he was no where near as muscular as Billy. He remembered the times he had gotten into fights with him quite well.
"I don't need to call for attention, unlike you. Seems like you still haven't had any luck finding a girlfriend, after all, huh?" He looked him dead in the eye.
"It's non of your god damn business." Steve replied."Okay, shall we just get inside then?" Stacey interrupted, hoping to stop this ridiculousness before it escalated. Billy stared at Steve for another moment, his nostrils flared. Steve's jaw was clenched and so where his fists. He then looked at Stacey, softening up a little bit.
"Sure." He replied and walked inside the store, nudging his shoulder into Steve's on purpose in the process.
