We're too old for this

He kissed her and lifted her off the ground in one swift move. She thought she was too heavy for him but he carried her as if she was weightless. They continued kissing bumping into one wall then the other, they were going to be bruised later but right now they didn't care. He finally found the door that took them to the bedroom. Luna yipping at him the whole way until he closed the door with his foot and kept her out. He laid Emmalynn on the bed and continued to kiss her.

She kissed him back fiercely. It was like for ten years she had been thirsty, hungering for his kisses and touches and now she couldn't get enough.

He began to take his jacket off and then his shirt but she stopped him by grabbing his arms.

"Wait"

"Em?"

"Not yet, okay? I don't want us to just jump back when there is still so much to discuss and I don't know what or how to feel yet."

"Yeah probably the rational, mature thing to do right now but... Em I"

She put her hands to his face and kissed him gently then released him. "I know. I feel the same. My body is almost on autopilot with you." She laughed.

He laughed too. "I mean we're adults. " He winked at her and smiled. He wanted her so badly it was like college all over again. He hadn't had this level of desire in a long time.

"No Down boy!" She gave him the I mean it look but in a playful way.

He didn't protest just laid next to her on the bed. They could hear Luna pawing and whining at the door.

"She's very protective of you. I thought she was going to bite my ankle there for a minute."

"Well...umm" she debated telling him that he was the first guy she had ever brought home. There were guys who made it to the door step for a quick kiss but never beyond it. She hadn't trusted a guy to come in, and definitely not to sleep with, since Alex.  It wasn't because of her beliefs, it wasn't even a physical thing, the men were very attractive, it was her heart. She couldn't let anyone have it. She didn't want to tell him that though. She knew how his ego could be and she also didn't want to set herself up for heartache again because he wouldn't stay forever and she couldn't go back to New York with him. "I've never brought a guy home before. Ya know because everyone in town talks and I didn't want it to reflect on my parents."

"Oh yeah I get it small town stuff" He said with a small smile. He knew that wasn't the whole truth he could see it on her face.

"I haven't been a prude though." she nudged his shoulder. "I have been out with a few guys since you. I just never really wanted a relationship ya know. "She shrugged.

"I have done the same." He paused and looked into her face. He didn't know if he should tell her the whole truth but she seemed so much stronger now than before. " I'll be real with you. I have had many one night stands but never more than two dates with any woman. Too busy with work stuff."

She flinched a little at his admission of sexual things. She hated thinking about him with other women but also knowing that none of them lasted more than a brief moment, unlike her, gave her some solace too.  She knew that to him sex could be just for pleasure and have no feelings attached. She wasn't like that. She needed that connection but she also remembered that before, when they were together,  he told her that when feeling was involved it was stronger and much more enjoyable.

"Well you always were a player before. I think the longest relationship before me was that girl who was in King Leer with you. What was her name?"

"Which one?" he laughed.
