The next morning, Tsura had decided to take Esmeralda's advice regarding getting to know Clopin more. She sighed as she walked around the back alleys of the city, trying hard not to get spotted by any of the soldiers. However, when she crossed the bakery, she paused when she heard a loud crash and then what sounded like chains being locked onto people's wrists. She looked over a wall, and her eyes widened when she saw what it was. A line of captured Romani was standing before Frollo, who was holding what was most definitely pieces of silver in his hand, which was held out to them.
"Ten pieces of silver, for the Gypsy Esmeralda." Frollo said, his tone placid, and not giving them any second chances. However, what Frollo didn't understand was that Romani don't rat out each other. The group all looked away from the judge, with ranging expressions of resent. Frollo glared at them as he pulled his arm back and looked to his soldiers.
"Lock them up!" He ordered before riding off, and Tsura frowned as she quickly ducked back into the shadows. Hearing the soldiers drag her people away made her heart constrict painfully within her chest and she ran off to a different location, to avoid getting caught. Unfortunately, even if she were to try and rescue them, it would have been in vain, because they would all have gotten killed.
As Tsura continued walking, she paused for a moment when rose petals started floating down from somewhere, and she looked up at a lamp post to see Clopin holding onto the pole, smiling at her. "Bonjour mon cher." He greeted as he hopped down from the pole and landed in front of her. In his left hand was a rose that was slightly mangled from him picking the petals and having them rain down on her.
He merely tossed the mangled rose behind him and produced another one from seemingly nowhere, and handed it to her, with a bit of flair. "How are you feeling? If you're still tense, I'm more than happy to continue where we left off~" Clopin said with a soft purr, which made Tsura's face turn slightly red in response.
"Maybe later when we're both not trying to get captured by Frollo or his soldiers." She replied, turning her head away as an attempt to hide the blush that was growing on her face. Clopin smiled as he moved a little bit closer and gently placed the rose in her hair, gently tucking it behind her ear.
"Would you like to walk with me for a while?" Tsura said once she finally managed to get a normal expression back on her face, which made the smile upon Clopin's face grow. He held his arm out to her, and the second she had linked her own around his, he gently pulled her closer.
"Of course, darling. After all, it would be nice for us to be able to get to know each other a bit more, no?" He said, as he began to lead her away.
