Muggle au! Remus being best friends with Regulus and falling in love with Sirius.  The parents are completely ignored Lmfao, all of canon relationships ignored!!! Just like them existing ig. Enjoy!!

Remus hesitated as he glanced at the massive mansion infront of him. It was built like a Victorian manor, with large windows and dark bricks. It seemed to seep cold air through the walls. He wasn't sure if he was ready to stay here for two weeks, he'd promised Reggie but .... he took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.

"Good afternoon sir." Ken, the old butler said, "Mr Regulus is in his room waiting for you. May I take your bag?"

Remus was always shocked by this show of hospitality that he experienced every time he came to visit. When he was younger he used to fight it, insisting on doing everything by himself. He came to learn that Regulus' parents did not appreciate his behavior, so he toned it down.

"No, thank you." He stepped into the house and immediately took of his shoes, not wanting to mess up the white floors, "are Mr and Mrs black here?"

Ken shook his head, "they are out on business for the next three weeks." He took Remus' shoes ready to take them for cleaning, "I believe you know where everything is, do call me if you need anything."

Remus thanked him and walked further into the house, hiking his bag up more securely on his shoulders. He walked into the foyer and took a second to admire the big brooding stairs and the long broad windows. He stared at the paintings on the wall and marveled at the chandelier. He had been in this house dozens of times and yet it never ceased to amaze him. He wondered what it must be like to have this kind of grand luxury.

He walked up the stairs and knocked when he got to Regulus' room.

"Yeah?" He heard from inside the room.

"Im coming in now, so you better not be naked." He said and he heard Reggie scoff.

"You wish I was naked." Remus heard just as he walked into the room.

"Haha very funny." Remus said and put his bag on the ground. He then got on the bed and sat next to Reggie, "how're you doing?"

Reggie only looked up from his book for a second to acknowledge him and then he went back to reading, "Better now that my parents are gone. You?"

Remus leaned back on the bed and stared up at the ceiling. "Fine, picked up extra shifts at the bookstore so I can get a nose piercing."

"Bold of you to assume you can pull off a nose piercing." Reggie said which earned him a shove from Remus.

Remus loved Regulus' room. It reminded him of late nights spent laughing so hard that his stomach would hurt. Of warm evenings spent talking about books. Of mornings where they would sit in silence because sometimes that was what they needed.

Regulus had been his friend ever since year 8 when he had walked into the library and found this scrawny little year 7 reading his favorite book. What had struck him about this boy was that he sat perfectly straight, as if he was afraid to slouch.

Remus wasn't sure when they became best friends, perhaps it was when he was in year 10 and opened up about the accident that had given him the scars and Regulus had merely shrugged and said, "at least they look badarse." Or maybe it was in year 12 when he'd opened up about being gay and Regulus had replied with, "Does this mean we can talk about how James Potter is kind of sexy?" Or maybe it was in year 9 when he had realized that Regulus came off as this posh snob, when really he was just always playing a part. The perfect child.

And while Regulus was his best friend, he'd never told him about his raging crush on his older brother Sirius. Because it was embarrassing. It was so embarrassing to have a crush on your friends older brother. Sirius was in his class, he was reckless and cocky and walked the earth like he was meant to be here. He was irresponsible and impulsive. He was so damn infuriating.
