Hey besties! It's my birthday today!!! I'm 18 now (yay?) so I figured I'd give you a present to thank you for being here! Based on summer love by 1d. 70s muggle Au! Okay, yeah, enjoy!!

Remus didn't know how he'd been roped into going to fucking summer camp but he wasn't going to complain. Not anymore at least. At first he'd hated it, he hated being forced to wake up at 5 am in the morning, he hated sharing a bathroom with fifteen boys, he hated the shitty food. He'd hated every second of being there.

That was until he'd met Sirius. Sirius with his charming attitude and pretty fingers. Sirius and his crazy ideas and daring glint in his eye. Remus had lost every need to complain the minute Sirius had grabbed his hand as they ran away from the camp counselor after a particularly brilliant plan.

In all honesty, Remus had been trying to ignore his feelings for Sirius, brushing them off as just ... him being tired or something. He'd used every excuse in the book to pretend that he wasn't feeling anything. 'I don't fancy Sirius, I'm just jealous of how attractive he is.'
'I don't fancy Sirius, I just want to be him.'
'I don't fancy Sirius, he's just objectively good-looking.'

Evidently he did fancy Sirius. Mostly because he was sitting next to him on the hill, it was ass o'clock in the morning and he wasn't focusing on how bloody cold it was or how tired he was. Nope. He was focusing on how close Sirius was to him. He couldn't stop thinking about how if he moved only an inch, their hands would be brushing. Never had the thought of another person's touch been so electrifying.

"Remus." Sirius said suddenly then grabbed his leg, "look." He was pointing at the rising sun but all Remus could focus on was the hand on his leg and how warm it made him feel. He turned his head to the rising sun in an attempt to distract himself.

It was beautiful. Truly it was. The sky melting from a warm blue into radiant reds and yellows. If he was any semblance of a writer he would spout poetic on how much it made him appreciate life. Then he made the mistake of looking at Sirius.

He was fucked. He was truly and utterly fucked. The most beautiful sunrise of his life was happening and all he could think about was how gorgeous Sirius truly was. How the warm glow of the sun on his face made him look like something from a painting. Luminous and bright. He was thinking about the hand on his leg and how he wanted to lean into the touch.

He fancied Sirius black.

Fuck him.

Dear Sirius, I find myself spending hours thinking of you. It's only been a few weeks since we said that we wouldn't contact each other because it would be too painful. I didn't realize how much more painful it would be to be away from you. I'm breaking our pact. Forgive me.

How are you? I hope your family isn't bothering you too much. In fact, I hope you ended up spending the remainder of summer with James like you wanted. I hope you're happy.

I'm doing alright. I started this new book that I'm really loving, the picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde if you're interested and I've finally stopped procrastinating and got a head start on my summer work.

I was listening to Ziggy stardust as I was doing my work and Starman came on, it made me think of you. Have I ever told you how much i love your name? Sirius. It's like, of course you light up every room you walk into, you're named after a fucking star.

God. I miss you so much.

I think I underestimated how much I'd miss you.

It's alright if you don't write back, I know it might be too hard.
