"Are you alright?".
Said the sweet voice that sooths Chan's very existence.
Chan wondered how a person who was that hurt, with blood oozing out from his back could possibly ask someone else that. How could he possibly think of someone else. How could think of Chan when was was inured himself. But again this person was Hyunjin, his Hyunjin. The kindest, bravest and most loving soul that was his soulmate.
Chan's eyes widened in panic as he felt that soul slipping away in his arms, and as they carried him back to the empire, to the palace and its infimary, he desperately prayed every second of it that he would hear that sweet voice again.

Hyunjin's eyeballs moved within his closed eyes as he sensed a throbbing pain in his lower back. His head started thumping vigorously, especially his scalp, as he tried to gain his full conciousness and understand his state. He remembers being in his room this morning when the Kang prince burst open the door and suddenly started pushing him against the window. He choked him and threatened him to comply with all his orders in front of his brothers and the Moons or else his appa would be in danger.
The memory of Chan kneeling down next to him and cleaning Llongwook's shoes in his place, flashed in his mind like a vivid image. He remembers feeling baffled and his heart hurting seeing Chan get humiliated even though he was angry with the older.
His brothers had tried to make him hear something but he was too disgusted with his own self to let his innocent brothers stay close to him. He cried in his locked roon like always, the whole day eventually falling asleep. And when he woke up he decided to go to his see his brothers to apologise for behaving so harshly and coldly with them. He hoped they would forgive him.
But they weren't in their rooms. He got to know about the Kang prince's trap. He could understand why his brothers would go to protect him but he couldn't understand why Chan and other Moon princes would rush to save him as well when he thought that they never even cared.
He told the troops that he would be going to the borders a bit before them, so that the Kang prince thought he was all alone and the Moon soldiers could attack unexpectedly.
Everything went by plan. Except he was surprised again and again how the Moons never hesitated to protect him and his brothers as they fought together. How Chan had protectively called him his mate and punished Llongwook for hurting him. It warmed his heart that had only felt so cold for years.
Suddenly he saw Chan walking upto him unaware of the Kang prince charging at him from behind. Without even thinking Hyunjin just hugged Chan, turned them around and received the blow of knife, as if it was a natural reaction to protect the older.
He thought it would hurt. But it didn't. Not as much as it did when he felt Chan's tears against his fingertips when he held his face.
He wanted to wipe away all of Chan's tears but then everything disappeared as he met with darkness.
He had to see him again. He needed to see him again.
With that Hyunjin's eyes fluttered open. It took some time adjusting with the light of the place. He realised it was a room with the walls painted all white.
Is this heaven?
Suddenly he heard several voices at once near him and he slowly started recognizing the faces.
It was Jisung, Felix and Jeongin who had wide smiles but tear stained cheeks as they gathered around him.
"Hyung! You are awake!" Said Felix. He started crying again, this time in relief.
