Chapter 11

"Happy birthday dear Ash and Sage, Happy birthday to you"

Everyone sang, Ash puts out her candles as Sage blows * more like spits* his candle out.

Ash seems happy with her purple and black iced vanilla cake, Sage already has a first full of green icing and chocolate cake.

"Birthday girl gets the first slice"

Kane states as he sits a slice in front of her, he kisses the top of her head before turning to cut more cake.

He froze for a moment before a bright smile covers his face, what Ash said being the reason.

"Thanks, Dad"

But at the moment I turned my back yelling started, I turn just in time to see Ash fly over the table to tackle a boy.

"Kick his ass!"

I smack Kane's arm, he whines as he holds his arm.

"The kid just smashed cake in Sebastian's face, and called him a tranny, he's lucky it's Ash and not Sam, she would murder him"

I sigh as I take napkins to Sebastian who is sneezing out the cake, but besides that, he seems ok.

I look up to see Ash slam her fist into the boy's face, I have to say im a bit surprised she isn't using magic.

"The cake to the face wasn't nice, but that name you called MY brother?!"

The boy was fighting back to the point he busted her lip, but the fight was soon over with a swift kick to his nuts.

Ash crossed her arms while glaring down at the boy, but with tears in his eyes he looked up at her.

And my gut sank, his eyes widened as his cheeks turned pink, as his nose twitched as he took in her scent his heart was pounding.

"Oh hell no, nope, she's still my baby"

I marched over and picked her up, I quickly took her back to the table to her cake as I try not to throw the boy off a cliff.

I'm happy she is someone's mate, but she is still a child, my child.
I am not prepared for one of my kids to have a mate, I mean this usually doesn't happen until they are sixteen or older!

"Is Sebastian okay?"

She asks as Zachary bandages her knuckles, I wipe the dribble of blood from her lip with a smile.

"Besides having cake in his sinuses, he's alright, seems training with Bryan and Steve is paying off, you didn't use one bit of magic"

She grinned and Zachary rubs her head, as she ate her cake I had to take Sage to get hosed off.

He screamed and squealed as I struggles to clean him, icing is all over his body.

"Hey, you alright love?"

I look up from toweling off sage, Kane smiles before picking him up along with the towel.

"Yea, just emotions- one of the pack boys just discovered Ash is his mate, her turning eleven, Sage being one now, Sebastian and Samantha maturing from little pups to young wolves, Oakley skipping a grade, And poppy is developing new powers, im sad, but so proud too"

He pulls me in for a hug before kissing my forehead, as he leads us back to the party I catch him with a slight smirk.

"Yea, you're also being very broody, I might have to take you for your birthday surprise sooner"

My eyes widen a bit, but before I could say anything he spoke again.

"I know you said you didn't want anything but deal with it, you're my mate and I will spoil you"

He chuckled, I didn't have time to argue since it was time for gifts.

Sage was first, he had quite the pile of gifts.

When he was done ripping open all of them he had twelve new outfits, eight new stuffed toys, five puzzles, four new pares of shoes, two hats, one play kitchen, and lots of books.

"Appy!!!"

Many of the parents of the pack chuckled, I thanked everyone before explaining.

"Appy translates to happy, he is very happy for all of his amazing gifts"

Next was Ash, she shyly opened each gift and thanked the person that got it for her.

In the end, she had a huge smile on her face.

Fifteen new outfits, five pares of shoes, a necklace, and a few bracelets, two new journals, eight gift cards to art stores, a set of glow-in-the-dark star stickers, a crystal dagger from Zachary, and a polaroid camera from me and Kane, her siblings got her a large makeup kit as well to go with the hand made vanity from Bryan.

"Thank you all so much, I love everything"

Her eyes watered, and Oakley uses and napkin to wipe away her tears.

Everyone pitched in to help clean up, along with moving all the gifts inside.

Sage began to cry as he rubbed his sleepy eyes, but as Poppy held him Ash made a cloud that looked just like the night sky.

Sage watched as he yawned, he held the cloud as he drifted off to sleep.

"I will take him to his crib," Bryan said before scooping him up.

Ash came to me as she played with a ribbon, her eyes on her feet.

"Do we live here now? We all have our own rooms, we don't go to the house anymore, all our stuff is here"

I hold her face in my hands, and when she looks up at me I smile.

"This is our home, the other house is empty and up for sale, Im sorry I never told you upfront or even ask you how you felt about this"

She just smiles before hugging me, I held her tightly as I lifted her up.

"I still remember the day you were born, I was almost eight years old, you were so small, you never cried which scared me sometimes"

She giggled, I sat her down as I took a deep breath.

"You were strong then, you're even stronger now"

"Thanks to you dad, we are all strong and still alive because of you"
