Knocked out again. This is the third time today. I'm starting to wish Blob hadn't saved me from the fall if I knew I'd be stuck in a recurring coma.

Oh Lani... What do I do? Ever since you died, my life started spiralling out of control. I get abducted, forced to fight a dangerous monster and now I discover I have magic. Doesn't seem to stop me from getting knocked out all the time though.

I wish, my life would go back to normal...

"Are those tears in your eyes Ciel?"

I woke up with a stir once more, my blade conjures in my hands as I thrust it in the direction of the voice.

The blade was only centimeters near the vital point when I noticed who I was about to stab.

It was a robot, it's one hand was raised signalling me to stop. Now that I think about it, this room I'm in is much different to the one akin to the Insane Asylum too.

It was now similar to a psychiatrist's office, complete with the sofa patients are supposed to lie on.

I was lying on said sofa in the first place.

The robot lowered it's hand and composed itself on the seat adjacent to me.

Director: Hello Ciel, I am the director of this organisation. We have already met before, but that was on unfavorable circumstances.

Now that I think about it, this voice was the one that was on the speakers before.

I slowly pulled my sword away from it, yet still clutching it in my hand in case it tries something.

Ciel: You were the one on the speakers. And you're a Newman?

Director: Yes, my body unfortunately perished due to an accident that happened years go. The only thing keeping me alive is the Ether coursing through me.

Ciel: Don't think that'll stop me from cutting you down. How do you even know my name?

Director: We, no, I know a lot of things about you. Like how you were raised in a small town near the mountains. How it was unfortunately destroyed by creatures beyond our understanding and eventually slaying one yourself just outside this building.

Ciel: You've been spying on me?!

Director: No, we've only discovered you just recently... When we heard the attack on your hometown.

Ciel: Great. Just great.

I lowered my blade in frustration and looked down on the floor. I couldn't bear facing this tin can.

Ciel: Did you at least kill the bastards who's done this?

Director: Language, and unfortunately, no. We only managed to neutralise a few Anomalies but our reports say the culprit has yet to reveal themselves.

Ciel: Damnit! I can't even avenge my family.

Director: Your family? Aren't you adopted?

Ciel: I know that! It's just...

Tears started to swell from my eyes.

Ciel: They were all I have left. Now they're gone. I don't even have a home...

The tin can stays silent as the sword dissipates from my hand.

Ciel: I don't even know where I came from. It's as if I was born out of nothing. Don't you see? They were all I had!- And now I discover I have this weird power. My life turned upside down in a span of a day... And I-

I stopped rambling once I felt the touch of the bot's hand on my shoulder.

Director: Ciel. I understand where you are coming from. I really do. It must have been so painful to go through all that.
