Chapter 9

Ferd: Okay, I gotta admit Lyn. You've got fine taste.

Seiros Squad exits out of a restaurant after getting breakfast. It seemed expensive.

Lyn: Don't worry guys, I got the bill covered.

As Lyn says this she slides some kind of card into her pocket.

Ciel: (Hm, at least we have funds secured.)

Estella: The tea was... Satisfactory.

Ciel: Right, now that that's out of the way. I suppose we should be going.

Estelella: Yes, where's the closest branch from Ter City now?

Ferd conjures a holo-map and shows it to the group. He points at a location just beyond some nearby mountains.

Ferd: Here, it's called "Runedell".

Lyn: Oh, that place? It's called the city of Technology and Enchantments.

Ciel: Enchantments? Like the ones used for magic?

Lyn: Sort of, it's mainly used to alter gear and tech. When combined, it can produce some amazing yet risky results.

Estella: Have you been there Lyn?

Lyn: No, my Mother used to tell me about these kinds of places... She'd have loved to go visit again sometime.

Ciel: And how is your mother?

Lyn: ...That's a topic for another time Ciel.

Ferd: Anyways, off we go then?

Ciel: Alright, let's.

And so Seiros Squad begin their journey at the behest of Director Simon.

Unfortunately, when they made it to the city gates, a bright light caught their eyes as they were going out.

Ciel: What the-

Estella instinctively created a wall of Ice to shield her friends and the passersby from getting blinded.

When the bright flash dwindled, Estella brought down the wall. To everyone's surprise however, the Tower and the rest of TEN's Central HQ had completely disappeared.

Ferd: Oh...

Lyn: ...my god.

All that was left when they arrived at the scene, was the original cemented foundation where everything was built.

It was quite expansive too, in order to accommodate everything. But now, it was just an empty open space.

Not a single soul nor any trace could be found, it's as if there was nothing here in the first place.

Ciel: W-what just happened...?

Ciel was trembling.

Lyn: We were just here..!

Ferd: Everything gone, just like that...

Estella only looked on, with a slight tinge of sadness and understanding. She starts searching her pockets and pulls out a holo-tape.

Ciel: Hm? What's that..?

Estella: An explanation.

She presses a button, and the tape projects a figure. On close inspection, it was Wilhelm.
