Chapter 5

Somewhere deep below...

A lone figure is seen approaching a larger one, overseeing something.

"Your majesty, I bring news."

"...Speak."

"The promised one. He has been found."

At that moment, something big weighed down onto the small figure causing him to kneel before the large one. Yet he saw nothing, yet felt it all the same.

"Your majesty, please!- I am not deceiving you, he has been found!"

The force crushing the small figure suddenly let's up now, but they'd still rather kneel that feel such a thing again. The larger figure speaks.

"...Do you swear?"

"Yes! Yes, I swear!"

"...Find him. Alive, or dead."

"Yes, with haste your majesty..!"

With that the small figure teleports away while the large one continues staring at what seems like a huge underground city. Filled to the brim with Anomalies.

"...So, you have returned...? After seven long years, I can finally finish what they had started..."

-A few hours later-

The drop ship was filled with idle chatter among my teammates and I when the intercom system went online.

Pilot: Guys, get ready to depart we're near the landing zone.

Estella stands from her seat and goes to our own intercom.

Stella: Roger that, please open the doors. We'll prepare for landing.

Ciel: We've arrived already? How long has it been?

Ferd: About thirty minutes. These ships aren't state of the art for nothing.

Lyn: You get used to it after a while hehe.

Estella turns to the doors slowly opening, and then to us.

Stella: Alright enough chit-chat, we've got a job to do.

All three of us now stood up from our seats and watch as Estella jumps off the ship.

Ciel: Uh, where's our parach-

I couldn't even finish my sentence when Lyn lightly pushes me off the ship.

Ciel: What the hell!- I don't have a parachuteeee!-

Ferd who jumped after me, quickly caught up to me squirming through the air.

Ferd: Use your shield to soften the fall dummy!-

After I heard those words, I quickly composed myself and assumed a more linear position. Mizu, who heard Ferd immediately puts up shields around me. I hold up a thumbs up to Ferd.

Ciel: Got it!-

Ferd nods and goes to check on Lyn, who was close behind us.

I wanted to try skydiving, but this was not how I envisioned it. Still, it is pretty fun once you get the hang of it.

The ground was fast approaching now, I see Estella had already landed. Forming a crater around herself.

Soon after I followed suit, dirt and debris went flying everywhere. But surprisingly I was fine, only feeling slightly dizzy after the impact. Ferd and Lyn then landed beside me.

Ferd: WOOO superhero landing! Man, that never gets old.

Lyn: Shh! Quite Ferd, or you'll give away our position.
