Chapter 3

Wilhelm: ...And here is your room. Located on the 5th floor of the living quarters building. Hope you aren't afraid of heights.

Ciel: Oh no, the air is quite nice actually.

Wilhelm: Right... Now, if you could please follow me inside. Here is your permanent residence for the duration of your time here in TEN's.

Ciel: It just looks like your regular apartment room. But I guess there's more tech than usual. So ca-

Wilhelm: Before you ask, no. We can't give you an upgrade. Even at the behest of the Director.

Ciel: ...Aw that sucks. I'll take what I can get for now I guess.

Wilhelm: Wise choice, now before I forget, here.

Wilhelm hands me a card with a blue circle on it.

Ciel: What's this? A key card?

Wilhelm: Yes and no, it's also your ID. Press the circle in the middle.

I do as he says and a little holographic projection comes up with my picture and ID serial number to the side.

Wilhelm: With this, you will have access to the many facilities of this place. Granted you have enough clearance of course.

I put the card in my back pocket. While a question stirs in my head.

Ciel: So are there any penalties if I were to "accidentally" lose this thing?

Wilhelm: Aside from being fined a hundred Lumens for losing one, no, no real punishments at least.

Ciel: What the hell? That's a lot for a measly ID!- I don't even have Lumens on me right now.

Wilhelm: To be fair, these things cost a pretty penny to manufacture. I say a hundred is more than enough.

Ciel: I- Ugh, well I can't argue with that. Is there any place here where I can earn funds?

Wilhelm: You'll find the mission counter, to be more than enough to fund you. Granted you succeed of course. Your other alternative is to go out into the city and earn them yourself otherwise.

Ciel: Yeah no. I'd rather go on thrilling missions than getting lost in a dull city.

Wilhelm: Well, the choice is up to you. Now I must depart, since my job here is done.

Ciel: Ah, wait a moment.

Wilhelm stops before he closes the door.

Ciel: Can you suggest where do I start?

Wilhelm: If I were you I'd get some much needed rest. Afterwards you can go meet the Squad you are assigned to.

Ciel: Rest... Right, I hadn't thought about that.

Wilhelm: Hm. Important announcements will be transmitted through your ID. Remember that, and good day.

The sharp looking Elf closes the door to my room. Leaving me with much needed alone time. I decided to check for some free stuff they had left me.

Exploring the room, I found actual pajamas in the dresser. I also realized I still look awful after the fight with the Anomaly, bandage included.

I took off my convict looking attire and put it in the spare laundry basket and took a shower. Mizu joined in after getting used to the cold water.

After a while I stepped out and dried myself. Mizu followed shortly after, albeit a little wobbly.

I changed into the pajamas and lied in bed, as Mizu just floats around above me.
