I dried up and changed into some new clothes. An hour into unpacking and organizing my clothes, I heard a knock at the door. "Come in."

"Hey Leilani" I looked behind me to see Keoni laying on my bed with a smile. He had also changed into dry clothes.

"Hey" I continued to unpack.

"Come on, let's go for a swim before dinner. I could show you how nice the beach is."

Going to the beach right now does sound nice, but I really should finish unpacking. "I can't. I still have a bunch of clothes to unpack."

Keoni frowns and flops on his back. "Come on. I've been wanting to go to the ocean all day but waited on you guys to get here. I was excited to show you the beach." He whines.

I thought about it for a second while Keoni gazed at me with imploring eyes. He's the type who never stops till he gets what he wants.

I roll my eyes and nod, "Yeah sure. Let's head to the beach, but you're helping me unpack after dinner all right?"

"Yes! Alright, I'll meet you out back." Keoni abruptly leaves and I search through to bags for a bathing suit. I threw it on and met up with Keoni out back and we made our way to the beach together.

"So, how are you liking Covington so far?"

"Well, other than getting thrown into a pool by a boy I barely know the minute I get here Mhm, it's pretty decent, to say the least." I smile.

"Trust me, this summer holds a lot," Keoni says.

We finally reached the beach and the ocean was huge. The sun's rays twinkled over the surface of the water making me squint my eyes in the distance. It was comforting the way the breeze brushed up against my skin.

"You wanna race?" Keoni says.

"Oh, I can't. I'm too slow." I say

"No, come on"

"You're like a whole foot taller than me. I possibly couldn't-" I say before running towards the ocean in a head start.

"Cheater!" Keoni chases behind me.

Keoni and I had spent the majority of the day at the beach. If I'm being honest, I haven't felt the way I felt with Keoni at the beach today in a long time.
