"we can do a few more laps yeah?"

"nope, you know the deal. if you want to go to pilates later, then no. we either run 6 laps and no pilates or 3 and one pilate or gym session"

"fine, let's just go"

we ran back to josh's place and had a quick breakfast before getting changed and driving to school. josh was so serious on trying to make me feel better, it was nice to know someone cared this much.

"i gotta go, you mind taking me?"

"of course, any excuse to see you in that uniform of yours is a good one"

it was 7am when josh and i arrived at the school.

"you ready to get started?" jade asked we met her on the field.

"i'm more than ready."

jade and i spent an hour and a half straight choreographing the first half of a routine to challenge sarah with.

"i think moving the lift more towards the back would look better"

"me too"

"and i think you all should just face your backs to the crowd, bend over and spank each other"

"you are such a perv!"

"you know you love me jade"

"lucky i'm not into guys then aren't i?"

my eyes widened a bit, i had no idea. the coach of both the football and cheer squad came over and chatted with us until sarah arrived.

"wow. you's are early, aren't you's" sarah said with a big smile on her face.

"wouldn't you like to know?"

coach furrowed her eyebrows at me. there is no way coach doesn't know about what kind of person sarah is.

"well i'm glad that i've been able to motivate you's to arrive sooner!"

"yes, very well done to you sarah" coach says, patting her shoulder and walking off.

sarah looked josh and i up and down with a scowl before turning to jade.

"so, ready to apologise?"

"nope. i don't have anything i need to apologise for"

"you questioned my authority"

"no, i was just enforcing the second rule of the contract of being vice captain: never have a bias in leadership. you haven't been following that and the first rule of always being there for your team"

"i'm here aren't i?"

"just because you're standing in front of us doesn't mean you're actually looking out for us"

the girls and guys started to arrive to first period one by one, which meant sarah couldn't act up without everyone seeing. usually she wouldn't care but now that jade isn't there on her side, no one is gonna defend her if she messes up.

the school day went by and last period was english with taitan.

"look, this lesson you don't have to harass me about taking me home"

"have you finally stopped being crazy?"

i crossed my arms.

"not like that! sorry, you know what i mean"

"yeah yeah, well josh is helping me slowly reduce the amount of fitness i'm doing"
