"josh give it back!"

"you're gonna have to chase me for it!"

"you bet i will!"

as i ran after him, I tripped over and fell on my face.

"ouch"

"scar, you okay?"

"i think i'm fine"

"your glasses!"

josh picks them up from the floor and hands them to me.

"my mom is gonna kill me!"

"scarlett, where are you?" my mom called out.

"quick, let's hide!" josh says, grabbing my hand.

we ran upstairs and into his bedroom, then hid in his closet.

"scarlett, you in here?"

josh and i couldn't contain our giggles.

"scarlett baby, there you are! where are your glasses?"

"i accidentally sat on them. sorry" josh says quickly.

"it's okay honey. let's go get you some new ones" she says, holding her hand out for me.

"can josh come?"

"i'm sure he's busy with his mommy and daddy already"

"i'm not! please can i come?"

"please!" we both whine.

"if you're mom's okay with it then fine!"

"thanks mommy!"

my mother took josh and i to pick out some new glasses.

"I think the purple ones look pretty on you" josh says as i blushed.

"really?"

"yeah and they have cool hearts on them so you have to get them!"

"you're right!"

i think i've had feelings for josh since he first moved next to my house when i was only in the first grade. now i'm a big girl in the fifth grade so i think i'm old enough to know what love feels like. everything seemed to be so perfect with josh right now. my 11th birthday was tomorrow and i was very excited.

we got home and i ran upstairs to try on my dress that i bought for my party tomorrow. it was purple, just like my glasses. josh said i looked pretty in purple so i can't wait for him to see me in this dress.

eventually, it was the night of the party. all of my friends and i were in the basement of my house getting ready to play seven minutes in heaven.

"I think the birthday girl has to go first"

i spin the bottle and it landed on josh until it moved onto his friend landon.

"okay! scarlett and landon need to go into the storage closet!"

landon and i go in and it was a bit awkward.

"do you want to kiss?" landon asked.

"okay"

he leaned forward and kissed me as i blushed. that was my first kiss! i wished it was with josh but landon was pretty cute as well.

we just sat and talked about school and sports and stuff until the 7 minutes were over.

"i'll go next!" josh says.

josh spins the bottle and it landed on me.

"omg scarlett again! scarlett and josh need to go into the storage closet!"
