"I love you"
they were washing dishes, he was washing, she was drying.
she set down the plate she was drying, "what?"
he cleared his throat, saying the words louder.
"I love you. I love the way you dance around to the radio in your underwear and my tshirt at 5 am even though it wakes me up and I pretend I'm mad but I'm not and I love the way you treat the dog like a child because it's so cute to watch you talk to him and I love the way you sneeze and when I hear it from another room it makes me smile and I love the way that your two hands perfectly fit into one of mine and I love the way your eyes light up while telling me about your day when you get home and I love you I love you I love you-"
she cut him off by swiftly kissing him.

"I love you" she said.

and they continued with the dishes, both with small smiles.
