IT FELT LIKE we had been in the car for days. "Ugh mom how much longer!?" I groaned.

"Calm down Lilah! We're almost there." My mom said. I was forced to sit in the back, of course. My brother would kill me if I even tried to sit in the front. So I sat in the back, my brother, Luke asleep in the passenger's seat, and my mom driving. I don't get the point of sitting in the front, and sleeping. There's way more room in the back!  I slapped Luke in his head.

"Dude! What the hell was that for!" He said quietly, since he had just woken up. I started laughing and leaned back in my seat. I squeezed in between the two front seats to switch the music station. I always turn the same music station on when we go to Cousins Beach. It gives extreme nostalgia.

We slowly drove through town, and it made me feel euphoric. The one thing I looked forward to every year, was coming. Seeing all of the shops, and places we passed every summer, proved we were almost there.

We got closer and closer to the house, and I felt even more excited, but a little nervous at the same time. I rolled down the window, and I could smell the cool breeze, the salty smell of the beach. The smell I had gotten used to over my 15 summers spent here.

"Are you guys hungry yet?" My mom asked.

"YES, dude I've been hungry for the past ten hours." I said, rolling my eyes. Luke nodded in agreement.

"There's a gas station right there." My mom said, pointing to a 7 - ELEVEN. "Take it or leave it."

"Oh dude we're going." I said.

"Totally." My brother said. My mom pulled into the gas station. It was the same one we go to every year. I could never get sick of it. The weird part is, I get the same thing every year. That's something else I could never get sick of. It's always a Blue Raspberry slurpee, a bag of funyuns, and Cheetos Puffs.

___

My mom and I walked into the gas station, Luke behind us looking at his phone. I walked over to where the Slurpees were first. I got the same blue one I had got every year. After I got the Slurpee, I went to where the funyuns were, and grabbed those, as well as a bag of Cheetos.

I handed my things to my mom, so she could pay for them.

"Really? Lilah, you're almost 16, you can buy you're own things." I smiled, shook my head, and turned around towards the door. I heard my mom mumble something under her breath, but I ignored it. I stood right outside of the gas station door, waiting for my mom.

My brother and my mom came out of the gas station, carrying everything we got. I stood up and walked alongside my mom.

"Do you like Jeremiah?" My mom blurted out, and she almost started laughing. I looked at her, with my eyebrows scrunched, and I almost started laughing myself. Honestly, I didn't know how to answer her question. Do I?

"Are you for real mom? No, he's like, my best friend." I told her.

"Ok. Just friends!" My mom said, laughing again. I rolled my eyes and walked ahead of her, to the car.  My mom, Laurel and Susannah have known each other since they were 9. They call themselves blood sisters. They all have the same heart shaped scars on their wrists.

Susannah said, that when me and belly were born, we were both destined for one of her boys. She didn't want them to be with anyone else. They had always assumed that I was destined for Conrad, and Belly was for Jeremiah, but me and Belly never believed that.

We've been going to cousins beach since before I was even born. It's like a second home to me. The boys, though, were probably what I missed more than anything else about it.

___

When we pulled up to the house, I didn't see Belly's car. We normally get there before them , so I wasn't surprised. Nobody was outside when we got there, so my mom honked the horn. Susannah opened the door, and came running out. Right behind her, was jeremiah.

He had the biggest smile on his face, almost like he hadn't seen us in years. I opened the car door and stood up. Jeremiah ran over to hug my mom, and then went to hug Luke. Susannah ran up to my mom and gave her the tightest hug.

After Jeremiah and Luke talked for a second, Jeremiah looked over at me and smiled.

"Delilah? Last time I saw you- you were like..." He started laughing. He started to pull me into a hug and lifted me off the ground. I started laughing so hard and I felt like such a little kid. Jeremiah put me down and walked back over to everyone else.

I heard somebody walking over, and looked to see Conrad, I smiled at him, and he smiled back. He started walking over to me.

"There's no way you're only 15." He said.

"Haha." I fake laughed. "Actually, I'm almost 16." Luke and Jeremiah started walking over to us. Conrad smiled. "Anyway I'm gonna go check out the pool."  I walked over to the pool and stood by the edge. I heard someone laughing behind me but I decided to ignore it.

Next thing I knew, i had three people pushing me into the deep end of the pool. They were all laughing as I swam back up to the top. I put my arms on the edge as they laughed at me. "I hate you guys." I started laughing too.
