AS OUR CAR pulled up the the country club, Belly and  got out on opposite sides in the back. Our moms were both sitting in the front. Belly had a pink colored 'fascinator' on her head, and mine was light teal.

"Thanks mom." Belly said, before we both started to walk away.

"Sure." Laurel replied.

"Wait," My mom started, "I just want you to know that if one of you decide you hate it, or the girls are mean, or even if the food is bad, you can text one of us. I promise I won't say I told you so."

"We'll be fine." I told her, before I smiled and walked away with Belly. My mom was probably right, I would probably end up hating everything. But it was a choice I made, and backing out means I'm a baby. I have to do it. Laurel started to drive away after a few seconds. When we were getting closer, we ran into Jeremiah, who was holding a stack of towels.

"Hey." I yelled over.

"Jeremiah!" Belly said. He looked over at us once he heard Belly.

"Oh, my god. Uh, I didn't even recognize either of you."

"Where's Luke?" I asked.

"Oh, he's inside helping get ready."

"Tell me the truth, do we look like fools?" She asked him. I stood there smiling awkwardly, not saying anything. It's like Jeremiah didn't even remember when we kissed.

"Um..." He started laughing, but tried to hold it in. "No, you look good. You both look good. Let me walk you over." Oh that's just great. Belly made an 0 shape with her mouth, and started moving her hands around. She obviously didn't want to.

"Sure you can." I told him. Maybe Belly didn't want to, but she never asked for my opinion.

"Ok, let's go then." He said, to both of us. "Uh are those pineapples?" He asked referring to Belly's dress. "And are those monkeys?" They were obviously flowers and shells. I don't know where that dipshit saw monkeys or pineapples.

"No, there's no pineapple or monkeys, Belly's dress has flowers and mine has shells." I said.

"Have you seen flowers before?" Belly asked him.

"I have, but neither of those are what you said, for sure." Jeremiah ran to put towels on a golf cart we were near. He took both of our arms and we were linked together like a chain.

As we walked into the room, all I could see were girls, girls, and girls, in dresses. This was probably going to be hell for me. They all looked at us, and for some reason I didn't feel nervous, but confused. Confused on why so many teenage girls would want to sit and drink tea.

"Jeremiah," Some old lady said, looking at us.

"Paige." Jeremiah said to the old lady, or 'Paige'.

"Where's your shirt?" She asked him.

"It's always a pleasure," He said fake smiling as he leaned down to kiss her hand. People actually do that? I've only ever seen it in movies. "This is, uh Delilah Moore, and Isabel Conklin, my 'future wife' as my mom said." That made me want to throw up. Did he really think that? I wasn't ok with that, at all. If Belly was his future wife, that meant I was Conrads future wife, which I was also not ok with. I stood there, awkwardly, yet again, but this time with a straight face.

"They're late." Paige said looking at Jeremiah.

"I'm sorry." I told her, even though it was a complete lie.
