Ranboo tried to yank his wrist free, but Tommy didn't let go.

"T-Tommy, stop, you idiot," Ranboo grunted, still struggling against him.

Tommy slammed open an empty classroom door and shoved Ranboo inside. Ranboo turned around just in time to see Tommy close the door as he stepped into the room behind Ranboo.

Ranboo held up his hands, speaking softly, trying to defuse the situation.

"Tommy, don't—"

Tommy shoved Ranboo into the wall. Ranboo's head made a loud thud as it smacked the tile behind him.

Pain split through his skull and Ranboo pressed his eyes shut for a moment as a headache forced its way forward.

"God- what is wrong with you?!" Ranboo said, pushing away from the wall.

Tommy went to grab for him, but he dodged his outstretched hands. Ranboo got into the center of the room, hoping to stop Tommy from using the walls against him.

Tommy's face was filled with pure rage.

"Stop stealing my best friend!" He shouted, lunging at Ranboo.

Ranboo caught his wrists, keeping the Brit from hitting him in the face.

"I'm not! He can have friends other than you!" Ranboo said, pushing Tommy back.

Tommy went for him again, narrowly missing him as Ranboo stepped to the left.

Tommy whirled around quickly and managed to get a punch on Ranboo's chest. It hurt, but Ranboo had been in worse fights. The problem was restraining himself so he didn't hurt the blonde too badly.

"You're taking him away for a month!!" Tommy screamed, grabbing the front of Ranboo's shirt.

"No I'm not! I don't even know if he's coming yet! Plus, I offered to take you too!"

"I don't want to go with you! I hate you! I fucking hate you!!"

Ranboo felt his face grow warm in uncontrolled anger, and tears pricked his eyes. Ranboo landed a hard punch to Tommy's stomach and sharply lifted his leg, kneeing Tommy in the you-know-what.

The Brit collapsed to the ground, holding his stomach and groin. He groaned in pain, not able to formulate words.

"I've never done anything to you! I only try to be nice! I've never once started the fights between us! I've given you anything you've asked and demanded! I've tried my best to make you okay with my existence! What the hell have I ever done to deserve the way you treat me?!" Ranboo shouted, his voice not used to venting his anger.

His hands were balled at his sides and adrenaline coursed through his veins. He resisted the overwhelming urge to kick Tommy while he was on the ground, hearing his father's voice echoing in his head:
Don't let your emotions take control of you, Mark. They're an enemy to everyone, including yourself.

"F-fuck you," was Tommy's weak reply.

Ranboo had to admit, he'd hit him harder than he should have.

Ranboo sighed, walked over to Tommy's slumped form, and knelt down.

"T-Tommy… I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hit you that hard. But it isn't fair how you treat me. I just want to know why you hate me." Ranboo said softly.

Tommy looked up at him, anger still in his eyes.

"Cause you're a fucking prick."

Ranboo sighed, pushing away the emotions that came from Tommy's words.

"Alright. Whatever you say, Tom."

Ranboo went around behind Tommy and slipped his hands under his arms, gently lifting him up.

"D-don't call me that, asshole." Tommy muttered.

He was still slouched over as Ranboo supported him under one arm. Tommy flinched, sucking in a pained breath.

"Shit," he cursed.

Ranboo's heart was pierced with regret.

"I-I'm sorry. God, I am so sorry. How much did I hurt you?" Ranboo whispered, his eyes scanning Tommy for any visible injuries. There were a few bruises on Tommy's jaw, but those weren't from this fight

Tommy looked over at him and smirked, though he didn't cover the pain that shone in his eyes.

"How come everytime we fight, afterwards you take care of me?"

Ranboo furrowed his brow.

"Because I didn't want to fight you in the first place. But I'm not just gonna stand still and let you beat the crap out of me."

"You know you can cuss, right? I'd cuss me out too." Tommy muttered.

Ranboo shook his head.

"Vulgar language is saved for people I hate. Not you."

Tommy's eyes widened and his expression turned to shock and… sorrow?

The Brit looked away, his hands balling into fist at his sides.

"You're a real fucking peice of work, you know that?" Tommy growled. "Stupid fucking bitch."

Ranboo stayed silent, still wondering if he had imagined the sadness in Tommy's eyes.

He helped Tommy out the door and into the empty hallway. No one was around, so he figured the bell had rung while they were fighting.

He helped Tommy to the nurse's office, one hand around the Brit's waist and the other grabbing the wrist of the arm draped over his shoulders.

The two of them had a silent agreement to never disclose the reason they went to the nurse, since neither of them wanted a scratch in their perfect records. They only told the nurse they had gotten into a fight, but didn't say with whom. And the nurse had never pushed for details, they just attended to the injuries.

Ranboo slowly slid his arms away from Tommy once they were outside the office door.

He looked at Tommy, his eyes doing a quick scan for visible marks again before his gaze went back to Tommy's ocean eyes.

"I'm sorry, Tommy." Ranboo said again.

He always felt bad afterwards, though he didn't know why. After all, Tommy always started the fights and never once had apologized for anything. But Ranboo still felt like he shouldn't have hurt Tommy, and he felt obligated to take care of him. Maybe it was because he was so close with Tubbo.

Tommy scoffed, looking away.

"Whatever."

Ranboo sighed, shaking his head.

"I really am. And I know it's useless to say stuff like this at this point but I'm going to say it anyway: I don't hate you, Tommy. I never have and never will. I want you to be okay, and I feel guilty everytime we fight."

Tommy only rolled his eyes. Ranboo brushed it off, having gone through the motions too many times.

"Okay. Well, I hope you're alright. Bye, Tommy." Ranboo said as he turned to walk away.

A stupid part of him wanted Tommy to say something. To stop him and turn him back around, telling him he was sorry. But it wouldn't happen. It never did.

Ranboo walked off, feeling Tommy's eyes on him until he rounded the corner. Then he heard Tommy knock on the door and the sigh of the nurse as they saw who it was.

Ranboo felt sick to his stomach as he numbly walked through the halls. He wasn't going to his next class. Truth be told, he had no clue where he was going. He just knew what he had done was wrong and it made him want to throw up.

Why do I feel so bad? He thought with a frown. We've gotten in worse fights before, and I never felt this level of regret.

The look in Tommy's eyes once again forced its way to the front of his mind.

Why did he look so… broken?
