Local Mall._____________Isabella's POV
"I still don't think this was a good idea Alex.. What if my mom sees that I'm not in my room napping?" I say as I follow her into a coffee shop in the mall.
"Which is why your not going to tell her." She says as she looks at the menu above the counter. "Pick a drink."
"No, your not paying for it. I have money-"
"What money? Your grounded remember?" Alex says as she points above the counter. "That S'mores summer frappe looks pretty good."
"Girl it's barely spring, and it gets cold at night." I say as I proceed to cross my arms. "You're not paying for my drink."
Alex raises a brow as she gets the barista's attention. "We'll take 2 medium S'mores frappe please."
This makes me huff in annoyance as this makes Alex smile in victory. "Why are you in such a bad mood today?" She asks as we take a seat at a table next to the wall.
"Told you, I have a headache and even though I lied to my mom, taking a nap right about now sounds nice."
I put my elbow on the cold table and I lay my warm cheek on my hand as a blender starts up behind the counter. "Can you make mine caffeine free at least?"
"Hey can you make the drinks no caffeine please? Thank you." Alex says as she looks back at me with worry in her eyes. She then proceeds to lay her hand on my forehead, the cool touch making me breathe in deeply. "Your a little hot Ivy."
"I'm fine, let's just get the drinks and go please?"
Right as I say that the drinks are set on our table by one of the barista's. Alex thanks the person with a nod as we grab our drinks to leave the coffee shop. As we're walking towards the main exit a thought crosses over my mind making me wonder.. why am I being such a bitch, especially to my best friend? This thought stays as we're both blinded by the sun that is still in the sky as we see Alex's mom pull up, just in time.
"That was a quick mall trip for you too, it usually takes 2 hours!" Alex's mom says as I open the back door and step in, the cool air conditioner immediately making me relax. "Yeah, Isabella isn't feeling good and she wanted to go home." Alex says.
As she pulls off and towards the highway I can see Alex's mom furrow her eyebrows, uh oh.. "Does your mom know your not feeling good?" She says as she stops at a stop sign, getting ready to turn out onto the highway.
"Yeah and she said it was stress from graduation and stuff like that so she wanted me to go have fun, you know?" I say that lying through my teeth.
"Uh huh, well if your mom already knows then I won't talk to her. Get well soon alright?" She says as she changes the radio channel.

Home.__________Isabella's POV
As darkness takes ahold of my room I finally have the strength I have left to get up and shut my curtains. I decide to also turn on my desk lamp along with the other one on my nightstand. It gives my room a not too dark but not too light, so just right lighting. As I plop back on my bed, I hear my door open.
"How you feeling sweetheart?" Mom says as I feel her hand on my forehead. She must've been doing dishes because her hands are nice and cold. I never understood why she did the dishes in cold water either. "You're a little warm too." She says.
