The Woods Outside Of Town - 12:05PM.
Sebastian's POV
"He's late." I say to Marcus who is on the phone. He puts his finger up at me telling me to shush when I put my middle finger up to flip him off. He doesn't see this as I put my hand up and wave it towards him telling him to fuck off.
Why do we have to be at the woods of all places? Henry doesn't wanna get his precious shoes all dirty would be my guess. But he is coming back from a mission that took place in Oregon, but he tends to lie a lot. A snarl escapes Marcus's mouth while on the phone, my head flips towards him.
"What are you talking about?" He says as he walks back and forth. There's little to no sticks laying on the ground, which is good because they start to get annoying everytime you step on them.
"They've been off our tail for years how could they have..."
Fuck it, I turn my head to the side to pretend that I'm not listening then prick up my ears and listen in on the phone call.
"The rumors about Michael Lynn's daughter are spiking again. It doesn't matter if they've been off our backs for year's Marcus, if they sense magic they'll go to it. You know this." Henry's voice rings out through the other line.
Marcus huffs at this realization. "If you and Sebastian would've followed my orders and we're careful we wouldn't be having this problem." Henry says.
So that little bastard did snitch to Henry. I keep my cool anyways at this, my arms crossed leaning against a tree trunk waiting for this phone call to end.
"We didn't do this Isabella must've used her magic without us knowing and that could've tipped off the hunters." Marcus says. His fist starts to curl while the other one is gripping his phone.
"She's not 18 Marcus." Henry says his name again. "Stop making excuses." He says.
The phone call goes silent after that when Marcus turns his attention towards me clearly to see if I'm eavsdropping. This makes me flash a sarcastic smile at him not caring if he knew I was. He shakes his head at this then turns around again. "I'm on my way right now it'll be about 2 hours." Henry says.
We've been out here since 11:30 in the morning to find out he's not even close to arriving yet? I huff at this as I look up, towards the tall trees to find out the sun is peaking through, making it almost uncomfortable. Being only 50 years old meaning my vampire self isn't used to the rays of the sun yet. According to the lore, once you reach 100 years of age the rays will do barely any harm.
"See you then." Is all Marcus says then presses a button on his phone to hang up. He shoves his phone into his back pocket, his face saying it all.
"Let's go, he won't be here for-" He puts his phone back in his pocket and motions with the other one.
"A couple hours." I say cutting him off. He doesn't look surprised considering that when he's on the phone it's hard not to eavesdrop, except for Michael.
"And why am I not surprised?" Marcus says this seeming sarcastic.
My back leans off the tree trunk to start to walk on the trail back towards the car, flashing him a little smirk too keeping my arms crossed. He shakes his head again and starts to walk beside me. The bright sun is starting to peak through the trees again making me duck my head down so it can hit the top of my head. I thought the forest was supposed to block out the sun.
