The woods, near Isabella's House - 2:02AM.
Marcus's POV
What the hell is that smell? The stench is so bad that it almost makes me nauseous . My nose scrunches up at this potent stench as I step over a large stick, my foot cracking everytime it hits the ground. We went hunting but apparently Sebastian has been keeping himself busy with Isabella's best friend. So in other words, he's not hungry.
"This sucks ass." Sebastian says next to me. I turn my head towards his direction as his face is drawn as well.
"It's not my fault you still wanted to go, or you wouldn't be suffering right now." I say as I step over another large stick. Sticks must've fell off the trees when it rained last week.
He scoffs at my comment but says nothing after, making me smile in my head. That's a first...
Either an animal died over here or... I stop in my tracks at this realization. I lean my head up towards the sky at the almost full moon to inhale this scent, almost gagging in the process.
"Dude, what are you doing, it's probably just an animal that died near here. " Sebastian says.
I wave off his comment as I close my eyes to anialate the scent. If it was an animal we would've smelt the fur and the rotten meat, something is not right. I hear Sebastian shuffling like he's putting his hands in his pockets.
"Okay I'll bite, what are you looking for." He asks without his usual sarcasm.
"Not an animal." Is all I say.
He finally stops talking as I finally search this very potent scent.
Blood... Lot's of it..
The smell of rotting meat...
More rotting meat...
And... Shampoo..? It was almost undetectable but it's there...
This one is hard to make out... It smells airy and... Light..? Kinda like a cloud.
Then I open my eyes at this realization. I haven't known her that long but I know that scent from anywhere.
"Come on." I say as I turn a opposite direction, headed straight.
"Why are we headed towards the neighborhood dude." Sebastian asks more curious now.
"Because that's where the scent is coming from, now come on slow poke." I say as a challenge to him.
And without waiting for an answer, I speed off at supernatural speed. I hear Sebastian behind me and it doesn't take us long to reach the end of the woods. We weren't that far in and to this day it still empresses me how fast we can run.
