Sunday, May 15th - 9:30AM - School.

Isabella's POV

I run my hand through my wavy chestnut hair to calm my nerves as I struggle with the strings to this banner. According to my mom, if I wanted my phone back I would have to help out at the school for Prom, which is tomorrow. And trust me I did NOT wanna be here.. especially on a Sunday when it's cloudy outside and all you wanna do is lay in bed. But it was either not having my phone all day and complain about it, or get up early on a Sunday to do my recommended punishment.

I finally undo the tangled strings as I move to the next corner which of course is tangled as well. This banner is gonna be hanged up near the entrance and thank god I won't be doing it. Some guy's volunteered that don't even go here by the way, to help out with the decorations.

"Hey you need some help?"

This voice snaps me out of my frustration as I turn my head to see the mystery guy, Marcus. His dark eyes are focused on me as I look to see that he is also holding the banner I've been struggling on. How long has he been standing there? I look back to the strings that are clearly still tangled as I take a deep breath. I really have a short temper..

"Hi." Is all I can get out. Wait... I drop the strings to the banner as I point my finger at him, accusingly. "Are you one of the guy's that volunteered?" I say this as I see a thin smile appear, as an answer to my question.

"Yes, and you don't look like you wanna be here." He says as I step aside so he can work on the strings. We're in the gym but they somehow assigned me to this stupid banner. There's some people all around, hanging decorations and putting stuff on the wall, there's a couple tables in here, for crafting. The one I - we got is a little dirty but I don't mind. I decide to sit down as he does as well, as I help him turn the banner to the other side, so many damn strings that are tangled..

"That and I got my phone taken away and if I want it back, I gotta help out here." I say that as I flick the corner of the banner which gets him to smile. "Hey it's not so bad, this is a once in a lifetime experience for you all." Marcus says as he finishes untangling the strings. He picks up the banner as I follow him towards the exit of the Gym. As we're about to reach the exit a little group of people come through the door, carrying a huge table.

"Coming through!" One of the guy's said. I move to the side just in time as one of the legs flip out from the table, as it hits my right leg. I mumble a curse word before I run out of the door and into the hallway, to see Marcus standing there waiting for me patiently. When he sees me we continue to walk towards the main exit of the school as I try to not touch my probably bruised leg. It will take a while for it to bruise up but it's definitely not the first time that's happened.

"Are you alright?" Marcus say's as I bite my lower lip. I don't answer right away as we push open the front doors to feeling the cool, but nice cloudy weather.

"Yeah the table that was being carried into the Gym, one of the legs flopped out and it got my leg. But I'm fine." I say that as I run my hand through my hair again. He nods in response as we walk down the sidewalk near the school sign. He hands me the other side of the banner as he walks around the sign, holding the banner in the other. We tie the knots as I begin to smile in approvel. We both back up to see the little masterpiece we created as I elbow him in response to it.

And just as I open my mouth to say something to my new friend, a cold chill runs down my spine all the way up to my neck all of a sudden, making me shiver. I touch the back of my neck as I see Marcus with furrowed eyebrows. His eyes are focused on someone in the parking lot, I follow his eyes to see it's that asshole, Sebastian. He's standing behind a black vehicle with his hands in his pocket nonchalantly. What's he doing here..? He's looking back at Marcus with a little smile at the corner of his lips.
