"bisexual?"
"mhm! bisexual. you know, steve, it's not just gay, straight, and lesbian. there's other sexualities that exist. god, you're hopeless."
"i guess i could be that? but i don't even know if he's into guys. i could just be overthinking it and reading too much into it. maybe he's just a guy who sees me as another guy best friend. nothing more."
"or, maybe, just maybe, he hasn't said anything because you're like, steve harrington. aka, the guy who tries to get with chicks every single week."
fuck. robin's right. even if eddie did like him, which is a huge maybe, he would never confess because steve is practically obsessed with girls. that means he'd have to make the first move.
"you know, i could ask eddie if we could crash at his place again," robin suggested. "just.. make sure you really like him, okay? eddie has a bad past with getting led on and i don't want anything to happen."that offended steve a bit. "you think i'd lead him on?" he asked, his tone a little snappy. robin raised her hands defensively and shook her head. "no, no. just make sure you really really like this guy, okay?" steve paused at her question and thought for a moment. was eddie used in the past or something? finally, he just nodded.
~
"robin!... harrington? you didn't tell me he was coming," eddie said as he greeted us. he didn't seem annoyed or anything, mostly just surprised that steve harrington was there. again.
after realizing his feelings for eddie, steve was even more of a nervous wreck than before around him. he couldn't even get out any words. robin seemed to notice this and she nodded with a huge smile on her face. almost too huge.
"yes! sorry. i forgot to tell you. steve kinda invited himself. said he wanted to see y-"
steve interrupted robin by pinching her side.eddie opened the door wider for them to come in and steve could feel his eyes burning onto him when he walked in. it made his cheeks flush a deep red. was there something wrong with him? was his tag sticking out of his shirt? was he walking weird?
"you kinda asked to come over on short notice so i don't have much for you guys. plus, i've got a gig tonight. you guys can come along if you'd like." eddie led the two into his room where steve inhaled the smell of cologne and weed once again. the smell of eddie. he watched as he packed away his guitar in its case and got all of his shit packed together.
"we'd.. yeah. yes. gig. we can come. of course," steve managed to get out. eddie peered over at him from over his shoulder. his eyes. his eyes. his eyes. "you alright, harrington? you don't have to come if it's not your style. you know, good boy steve harrington," he teased, a smirk crossing his lips. steve gulped and felt robins arm press against his to comfort him. it's just eddie.
"no, no. i'm alright with going. don't worry about something 'not being my style'. you underestimate me, munson."
that seemed to get a good reaction out of eddie because he turned his head back around and finished getting prepared.
"you guys can follow behind me when we get on the road. don't worry. i'll make sure you don't get eaten alive by my little drunk friends."~
it wasn't too bad. just a small bar. steve and robin had to get a black X marked on their hands when they entered. there was a small stage and tables scattered around with a few men sitting at them. steve took a seat with robin at an empty table. it was honestly pretty cozy; definitely not steves kind of gig though. after a few moments, eddie and his band came onto stage, looking extremely badass.
and holy shit, eddie looked beautiful.his hair was definitely just washed this morning because it looked the fluffiest it's ever looked. he seemed to have the tiniest bit of eyeliner on which complimented his puppy dog brown eyes. with the way the light hit him, he looked like a beautiful movie star. steve was in awe at his appearance and almost drooled just by the sight of him. he felt robins leg graze against his under the table and he had to practically force his gaze off of eddie to glance at her.
"you gotta say something, steve. you look at him with these goo goo eyes and you're practically drooling over him. just make a move."
she was right. and steve hated that she was right. how the fuck could he flirt with someone as beautiful as eddie?"what if he rejects me, robin? what if he doesn't even like dudes?"
"then find out if he does or not."
as eddie played his guitar, steve was fascinated by the way his fingers moved. it was like every move this boy made was unpredictable and it excited steve. eddie occasionally locked eyes with steve and he felt like his body was on fire. eddie just seemed so different when he looked at steve. it was like he was eager for approval from him and his eyes looked so much softer. steve was absolutely mesmerized.
it ended almost as soon as it started. of course, the group of drunks applauded and cheered. but eddie deserved more than just a group of drunks. he needed a whole crowd.
while his band started packing their things away, steve jogged up to them and robin followed. just breathe, steve."harrington. how'd you like it? too much for your baby ears?" eddie teased, biting on his bottom lip after speaking as he seemed to stare at steve and only steve. it was like robin didn't exist in this moment. not robin, not the other band members, it was just him and steve.
robin ended this by shoving steve to knock him out of his trance. he forgot to answer. "ah, no. it wasn't too bad. honestly, i quite enjoyed it. i hope you don't mind if we still stay at your place."
yes, perfect. perfect opportunity to see if eddie's actually into dudes. eddie willingly agreed with the biggest smile on his face. he got his approval from steve, so he was shining.they followed eddie home in steves car and steve looked like a nervous wreck the entire time.
