"Alex!" "Kayla!" I went in for a hug, Alex squeezed me extremely tight which was weird because he wasn't an extremely touchy person. His expression expanded as he laid eyes on Eddie. "Eddie Munson, I've heard a lot about you!" Alex said shaking his hand. Eddie looked at me with a hint of fear in his eyes. "Good or bad?" He asked Alex jokingly. "Both!" Alex laughed. Eddie just stared at him. "Where's Kristie..never mind. Found her." I giggled looking her way. The blonde girl had been in what looks like a bit of an argument with Steve. By the hand on her hip and the other pointing at him aggressively it didn't look to be good.

I played with Eddie's rings on his fingers as Alex talked to me. "I just feel weird about it. It doesn't feel right." "Well, I mean have you told your mom about this?" I asked him. He shook his head yes and shifted in the loveseat. "She just told me I needed to stop doing drugs." His eyes lit up as he made direct eye contact with a Eddie. "I don't do drugs. Occasionally I'll take to much ibuprofen but that's about it." They just stared at each other. "Hey, if you ever need to stay up for a test. It's a good way to go-" "Alex" I looked at the nervous boy. His hands were now shaking. "I feel like I'm going to die.." I grabbed one of his hands and squeezed it. "You're not going to die. Not if I'm here to help it!" I said to reassure him. Alex smiled at me. "You're very dramatic." Eddie looked at Alex. "I'm gay Ed, of course I'm dramatic." Suddenly our attention was grabbed by a loud ruckus coming from the kitchen.

I ran into the kitchen only to see Steve and Kristie both covered in a liquid. "You're so drunk!" Steve squeezed his shirt out. "I'm not drunk yet!" Kristie said grabbing another bottle and taking a big gulp. "Okay, now, now I'm drunk!" Steve smiled at the goofy girl. I looked over at Robin who had been chatting up a storm with this girl that had pink in her hair. "Kayla!"
Steve smiled at me. "Do you mind shutting this down? I need to get this one home." He said taking the girl by the hand and helping her off the kitchen island. "Yeah of course."   "Hey Edds, got any goodies for meee!" Kristie said slurring her words. "No ma'am not today." "Oh damn okay.." I turned to look at the boy. He blinked at me and smiled. I rolled my eyes and walked over to the gay girl. "Steve's shutting the party down." "already?" She said pouting. "Can you walk me home?" "Yeah" Robin answered the girl. I looked at robin and smiled. She hit my arm and took the girls hand. "Party's over! Get the fuck out!"

I grabbed Eddie's hand and walked to the door. "Wait where's Alex?" I looked around. People were clearing out quickly. "I don't see him." Eddie said squeezing my hand. "Maybe he already left." "Yeah. Now let's get you home."

"Who the f-" I looked up at the road. A figure was standing in the middle of the highway. "Is that?" "Eddie that's Alex." I unbuckled and went for the door handle. "Hey hey" Eddie grabbed the door and shut it. "I'll go" he said sliding out of the van.

"What the shit.." Eddie whispered into the thin midnight air. "Alex buddy, do you need a ride?" He walked up the boy. He was standing still, not moving. His body looked stiff. "Alex. Hey.." Eddie placed his hand on Alex's shoulder. "Earth to Alex!" He turned to his face. "Alex? Alex!?" Eddie began to get even more freaked out as the boy stood there. Unfazed, statue like. "Alex, Alex wake up buddy."

"Hello!? Is-" Alex spoke. He walked around a flipped car. It had blood sneered all along it. His heart sank as he made his way to the front of the car. A deer had been decapitated. "I—I—" he fell back in shock. An arm fell from the side of the car. "H..help... help.... Me..." "hello!? Are you okay!?" Alex ran over to the arm. A bloodied women crawled out of the door. "Ma'am don't mo-" he didn't get to finish his sentence before the women, broken in multiple pieces started rebuilding herself to a standing pose. Her dress once a pretty yellow now soaked in a bloody red. Her long orange hair lay tattered and soaked in blood. "I told you.." "what?" Alex stepped back. "I told you there were deer here..." The women whispered. "Wh-" "I TOLD YOU ALEX I TOLD YOU!" She looked up, her unhinged saw snapping into place. Alex belted a petrifying scream that shook the dream world he had been sent to. "Riley I'm- I didn't- I'm-" "you killed us.." she pointed. Suddenly the decapitated deer stood up. Alex took off into a sprint down the never ending road. "Alex." The clock rang out one last time.

"ALEX!" I screamed jumping out of the door. Eddie was on the ground petrified. No sound escaped his mouth. I grabbed Eddie's hand and pulled him up not taking my eyes off the floating boy. "Alex.." suddenly his bones snapped in ways you wouldn't believe. His once beautiful Emerald Green eyes now nonexistent. My best friend was now a roadkill. And I just stood there. "Kayla, we have to go." He pulled me toward the van. Tears were rolling down my face. But I couldn't get sound out.

The drive to Eddie's was quiet but quick. "We need to call someone..." "who- who's going to believe us.." I stared at the dashboard. "I- I don't know." Eddie grabbed my hand. "Come on." "I'm not going home.. I can't.." I said finally looking up at him. By the look he gave me I must have looked awful. He immediately kissed my forehead. "It's okay princess."
