Season 2 chapter 3: An old friend

Spark and Ella were just hanging out in town, not on a date but just two friends having fun. They were heading home after lunch

Spark: That restaurant was good

Ella: It's why my brother and I used to go there all the time

???: Hey Spark!!!

Spark: Hey dude!

Ella: Who's he?

Spark: You seriously don't remember him? He's my old partner, he was with me when we first kissed

Ella: Oh yeah! Truth?

Trace: it's Trace, I feel like no one remembers

Spark: Anyway what's new?

Trace: Honestly not much, but looks like you've been busy getting yourself a girlfriend

Spark and Ella: *blushing* shut up

Trace: I wanted to ask you something, is it ok if I date Lapis? I promise I won't try to flirt with all girls I see now

Spark: How about I think about it?

Ella: Why not let him? Do you not trust him?

Spark: It's not that, I just... ok how about this. I'll let you two hang out, and if it goes well you two can date, deal?

Trace: Deal!

Spark: I'll tell her the good news and she will probably call you

Trace: Got it!

Later while walking

Ella: So you're ok with him dating Lapis?

Spark: Kinda, I want her to be safe and I know he's strong but still

Ella: You know, you act a lot like a dad to your siblings

Spark: I guess, it's just kinda weird to think of my twin sister calling me dad, you know?

Ella: True, but you do make a great dad for Sunshine

Spark: Thanks

Back at home

Spark: Lapis, can you come here?

Lapis: What's up?

Ella: Why is there chocolate on your face?

Lapis: N-no reason *looking very guilty*

Spark: *sigh* Did you get into my secret stash of chocolate ice cream?

Lapis: I only wanted a little but then Diamond came and ate more and I think she's addicted to ice cream

Ella: Let's just ignore that for now, we got something we wanna tell you

Lapis: What is it?

Spark: Remember Trace? I remember you asking me about him and I'll let you two hang out

Lapis: REALLY?!!

Spark: But it's only hanging out, for now, if that goes well then you can go on a date

Lapis gives Spark a hug

Lapis: thank you thank you thank you!!!

Spark hands Lapis a little piece of paper

Spark: Here's his number, I told him he would call you

Lapis then runs off with the piece of paper

Ella: So what should we do about Diamond?

Spark: If we're lucky, she didn't eat too much, the more likely possibly she ate so much of it she passed out

Ella: How much ice cream do you have?
