A thick rope with a loop was lowered down. First 'tommy' was pulled up and he called for Kendall, at first she hesitated but I looked her in the eyes with reassurance.
"I'm right behind you, ok?"
She nodded and was pulled up.
Next up was me, I put my foot through the loop and gripped tightly when 'lizard' grabbed hold of the rope and shuffled his foot in with mine.
So many thoughts were rushing through my head and the one that made me blush a little was that I've only been here for 5 minutes and I already had the hots for a stranger named after a lizard.
After the visible awkward difficulty of getting up was finished, I shot to Kendall's side with the weirdo, 'thomas' on the other.
"Ok you two, let's go" newt walked off so Kendall and I had no choice but to follow him.
"What is this place?" I asked
"Kendall, right?"
"Kristina" I corrected sternly
He turned to face me, still walking towards a structure of sticks "Sorry, my mistake" he turned back around facing the right way as he walked.
"This, is the one and only Glade. Your new home" Kendall grabbed my hand and squeezed it tightly.
I knew she was getting nervous about his words "what do you mea-" he stopped and hushed me, we were right in front of the stick structure. "No questions, got it?" I was curious to know more about this 'Glade'. "Kristina?"
I snapped out of my thoughts and nodded.
He led us inside through a wooden door, up a tight hall, poorly made stairs and into a room.
"This is your room" it was a fairly big room with a window, dresser with a single bed on one side and a double on the other. "Now, wait here I'll be back" a moment of silence passed until
"Ok, spill" Kendall said with a grin on her face
"What?" She rolled her eyes at me.
"I saw you almost the entire time!"
"So? Who cares!" I knew my crush wouldn't be a secret for long.
"What about that Thomas dude?" I stared at her
"Do you like him?" She started blushing
"Well he seems nice but..."
"What is it?" He's cute but that creepy stare thing could scare a girl off..
Out of nowhere newt cane back with that ripped guy with dark skin. I guessed he was Alby.
"Two Greenies?" Uhh, his voice! newt nodded "their sisters"
"Of course,because that wasn't obvious!, before any questions, we'll be holding a gathering in ten minutes and you'll have a tour tomorrow" Alby nodded goodbye to newt.
"Why can't anyone just tell us what the hell is happening!?" Kendall was getting irritated
"Hey, calm down" I held her hand and stared at her.
"Krisi?"
"Yeah? what is it?"
"I'm hungry"
"... Are you serious?"
Newt laughed "dinner will be after your gathering"
I looked at him and smiled, he smiled back.
"I'll let you know when that's on"
"Thanks" he turned back
"Your welcome"
After he was gone Kendall went and sat on the single bed, I did the same but on the double.
