Soon Mia and I knew we weren't alone
There was the sound of dead leaves crushing and heavy breathing
We looked around frantically until Mia spotted a figure in the shadows
"Ben? Are you-
"Stay away from him"
"What? Why?"
"Look at him. He's been stung"
Ben screeched with fury and bolted in our direction.
We turned toward the Glade with Ben following our footsteps.
When we reached the Glade, we screamed for help whilst still running from Ben.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me to the ground and pinned me, then pulled out a knife.
Amber ran into Ben and fought with him on the ground.
She knocked the knife out of his hand but it was still reachable. He grabbed and tried to stab her aimlessly.
Newt ran over with a shovel and bashed it against Bens head, knocking him over.
The closest Gladers pinned him down.
"Lift his shirt!" Alby yelled
The Gladers did so and revealed a purple/blue wound that made the infected veins around it the same colour.
Murmurs from the crowd made me uneasy.
"You know what to do"
Jeff and Clint went with the Gladers who had Ben.
Everything I saw made me uneasy.
Newt came over and I melted in his arms as I started sobbing.
Mia's pov-
I spotted Kristina with newt, then Thomas and Tessa, then the sight that broke my heart. Gally was Ambers boyfriend. My best friend.
He came over,
"Was Ben stung, or just going crazy?!"
"I don't think you should worry about Ben for the moment"
"Why? What aren't you telling me?"
"Amber, she... She-
"What. Is she ok?!"
I felt the tears in my eyes but tried my best to hold them back while he looked around to see Amber, bleeding out lifeless.
Gally fell to his knees with his face in his hands.
"Gally?" I said softly
He shook his head.
"I'm so sorry"
I sat with him and he grabbed me tightly, crying to his hearts content.
