Before our break was over, Gally and I sat in the lookout tower just watching the little activity in the Glade.
We didn't talk much but at least we weren't at each other's necks.
"So, ya building anything new?" I said trying to get a real conversation going.
"Not really, just extensions to the homestead, like usual"
"Oh, I was hoping you would say you were building an almighty tree house or a batcave!" I exaggerated like a little kid, making him laugh.
(Don't ask how she knows about batman, just go with it)
"What's going on in your part of the Glade?"
"Nothing really, just Newts leg n clumsy Gladers" I answered
"What's wrong with that anyway? He hasn't broken anything-
"That's not the point you slint head"
"Then what's wrong with him?"
"He's only dislocated his ankle, but due to him breaking his leg and not healing properly giving him a permanent limp makes it worse. Plus, he's second in command, he can work anywhere"
A long silence loomed through the air, making everything awkward and uncomfortable.
"Do you care?" Gally broke the silence
"About what?" I looked at him confused
"Us" he said he said so quietly it was almost a whisper
"Well if your asking if I care about you-
"I'm asking about us, not me" he cut in
"Well I don't know what to think about us because you won't talk to me about it" I Answered
"Well I am now" He said giving me a hard look
I looked into the distance, ignoring his stare
"I really like you, but I don't know what to do or think about you because one minute you like me, the next you do everything possible to ignore me" I felt the hot sting of tears in my eyes, why am I so emotional?!
"I guess I just don't know what I'm doing..." He trailed off
"I figured that out" I said looking back at him
Another long silence went by until Gally once again broke it.
"I'm sorry" he whispered
I looked at him "im sorry too"
"For what?" He said confused
"I don't know" i snaked my arm around his neck, pulling him into a long kiss.
He seemed shocked at first, but soon kissed back.
•HOURS LATER•
Kristina's pov-
Nothing was working so no one doubted that the doors weren't gonna close, this time we prepared for the night.
Every Glader was hiding in a safer spot from last night including the homestead, med hut, slammers, map room and even the kitchen.
I hid in the kitchen with Kendall and a handful of other Gladers.
Night had already fallen upon the Glade and grievers were roaming outside, looking for any form of life to kill, with a screech every now and then everyone would hold their breath just waiting for a humans cry of pain and then to suddenly stop like a mute button.
The sound of mechanical whirr and clicks of a griever had gotten very loud, you could see its silhouette through the poorly made wall.
Everyone sat in pure horror waiting for it to just leave, the griever let out a little growl, soon followed by a scream of rage as if realising the Gladers were hiding the whole time.
It lifted its claw and smashed it into the wall, aimlessly trying to grab the Gladers through the hole It just made.
The griever finally succeeded in grabbing a Glader and to my realisation it got Kendall.
IMPORTANT
I'll just clear out that Amber was NOT pregnant, just late, not pregnant.
It seemed like an idea at first but now it messes with the storyline I've got going soooo yeah...
Also! Feel free leaving a comment letting me know if you'd like me to write about a certain character, cause I will put it to mind while I'm writing.
