Part 1: Silver Clouds
Great Tree Moon
An Inevitable Encounter
Eliza was in the dining hall cleaning after lunch and wiped the sweat from her brow. Claude was supposed to be cleaning with her, but he was assigned a mission with Dimitri and Edelgard, the Heir of the Adrestian Empire. This left Eliza with the work for the day. She was washing the dishes in the kitchen and felt them pile up outside.
"There's the last of them," Eliza smiled after a few hours had passed.
Her face dropped at the sight of a pile larger than ever being placed in front of her.
"You're not done just yet," the head chef said, "I expect these to be done before dinner happens."
Eliza had a look of horror on her face as the head chef left her alone. Claude is so going to pay for leaving me here, Eliza thought as a scheme came to her. She finally finished the chores for the day and was relieved that once the school year began, her chores would be limited to once a week rather than every day.
She headed to the greenhouse and searched the plants. She knew what she was looking for and brightened at the sight of it. She plucked the plant and grinded it into a fluid like paste and placed it in a container. She crept around the monastery and found Ashe.
"Hello, Eliza," the boy greeted, "How can I help you."
"I need you to pick a lock for me."
"Sure," Ashe smiled, "Did you lock yourself out of your room?"
"Not exactly," Eliza said with a devious grin.
She led him through the hallways and Lysithea joined in. They were outside of Claude's door and Ashe frowned, "Why are you trying to break into Claude's room?"
"Just a harmless prank," Eliza smirked, telling them the details.
"He's going to be so mad," Lysithea said and Eliza shrugged, "I already have kitchen duty with him for this month so it can't get worse."
Ashe let out a deep breath, "Fine, but I don't wish for him to come after me for helping you."
"My lips are sealed," Eliza promised, "He won't know your involvement."
Ashe picked the lock and made a haste exit and Lysithea offered to keep guard. Eliza slipped into the room and found his shampoo. She pulled out her concoction and mixed its contents inside. She knew what would happen and that it would only be temporary with effects lasting up for a week. Once she finished, she left the room with Lysithea giggling.
"He's going to be furious when he finds out," Lysithea laughed and high fived her.
"Now," Eliza said, "We need to hide the evidence. Back to the kitchen."
The two girls returned to the kitchen, washed the contents and were eating dinner in the dining hall with the others when Claude came in from his mission. He looked exhausted and excused himself to rest early. He did not notice the wicked grin on Eliza's face as he left.
"What is with that face?" Lorenz asked her, "I think you did something."
Eliza told the rest of the Golden Deer and they erupted into laughter.
"He's going to kill you," Ignatz warned.
"He's a schemer," Raphael laughed.
"I support you," Lorenz said, "I would take delight to see the results."
The next morning, Eliza was hanging out in the Golden Deer classroom for their meeting when Claude stormed in and he did not look happy.
"Oh. My. God," Hilda gasped and covered her mouth.
