Part 1: Silver Clouds
Wyvern Moon
Battle of the Eagle and Lion
Eliza was standing in front of Byleth with Claude beside her. Her blue eyes pleading the professor and the note still in her hands.
"I know it is a selfish favour to ask of you, but would you help me with rescuing my parents?"
"Of course," Byleth told her student.
Relief filled the young Marvine's face as she bowed, "Thank you, thank you! You do not know how much this means to me."
"Eliza has shown me the map that was sent with the letter," Claude informed the professor, "It would seem as though our new foes have taken refuge up in the mountains along Fódlan's border with Almyra."
Eliza flinched at the mention of their neighboring nation. She swallowed to keep her composure and exchanged looks with both her house leader and professor, "Well, we must make haste if we wish to make it in time before anything truly bad happens."
The Golden Deer gathered their weapons and headed out. Along the way, Byleth found herself asking, "Do we know anything about those who kidnapped your parents?"
"I'm not sure of anything," Eliza answered, "My parents are the nicest folks. They live in peace in the mountains away from any conflict. I could not think of anyone that could bear such ill will to kidnap them."
"We are pretty close to the Almyran border," Claude noted on his wayvern. He flew lower to Eliza, "Want to hop on?"
She saw the look in his green eyes and did so. Her arms wrapped around his waist as he controlled the wyvern. They were out of earshot of the rest of the Golden Deer. His hands gripping the reins tightly.
"You're hiding something from me," Claude muttered, "I can tell. What is it?"
Eliza looked away, "It isn't that important."
"If it gives us any leads to your parents, it's important," Claude argued, "There is nothing to fear. Remember, you can speak to me. I'm not just your house leader."
"I know," Eliza swallowed, "It's just a hard pill to swallow."
Sensing she was still hesitant, Claude sighed, "I won't press the matter further if you do not wish for me too. Just know that you can trust the Golden Deer and Teach."
"Hey Claude?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you promise me you won't hurt them," She gripped his clothes tighter.
"If that is what you wish," Claude sighed, "I'll have the Golden Deer only disarm them. Teach will understand. I will stand by you throughout this."
Eliza smiled on Claude's back as she heard Byleth announce that they were in the vicinity.
Claude let her dismount as she readied her bow. Across from them they saw a group of mercenaries. The sixteen year old hardened her stare and drew her bow.
"Give me back my parents!" She shouted to them.
"The little girl is crying for mommy and daddy," the leader taunted her, "How cute. You should be more concerned about your own safety before worrying about others."
