Hey ya'll :) Been a really, really, really long time since I posted a oneshot! But, I had a creative burst the other day, and figured I might as well post it. Enjoy :)

Finn and Fontaine are close, until they have a huge fight over something relatively simple. It takes them a while to get back together.

Aged up Finntaine, 16 and 17.

"Hey, mind if I come over?" Finn's contact popped up followed by a message on Fontaine's phone. She smiled at it and quickly typed a 'yes' and around 10 minutes later he'd shown up. Fontaine was grateful that his Dad was so close by today.

"Hey. You ok?" Fontaine asked, giving him a little hug as he sat beside her in her room.

"Just tired." Finn mumbled.

Fontaine knew that was code for he'd had to do something he hadn't wanted to, and nodded. "I'm sorry. Wanna talk about it?"

"No." Finn shook his head. "But thank you. Wanna watch something? I gotta be home at 5. Don't want Dad to notice I was gone. Was there any update on your Grandparents by the way?"

Fontaine shook her head. "We're still looking. Professor Fiction thinks he can track their sub but he hasn't seen anything. It's fucking scary. We haven't even heard from them in 8 months. But Dad's determined. We'll keep looking."

Finn placed an arm on her shoulder and typed something into her laptop. "I'm keen to watch CPD. Let's try and make the day a bit better?"

"Ok." Fontaine chuckled. "But you stink, so go shower. I have a spare shirt for you in my drawer, and probably boxers too. Mom won't care if you shower anyways. She'll think it's me."

"I'll ignore the 'you stink' part, cause you're my best friend." Finn teased. "But thanks. I will.

He did as he was told, disappearing for 5 minutes before returning dressed in a clean tee and boxers, and Fontaine sniffed him before nodding. "Okay, you smell better now. Let's watch this." She pointed to her laptop, and Finn pulled the blanket up over them.

Fontaine smiled at him gratefully and not for the first time, was beyond pleased that they were friends.

Present day:

"Fontaine? What's wrong, hun?" Kathryn smiled at her Granddaughter.

Fontaine jumped, slamming her tablet down in the process out of reflex. "Oh, sorry Grams." She blushed. "I'm a bit jumpy. And tired. Wait, why are you asking me how I'm doing? How are you doing?"

Kathryn chuckled. "As well as can be expected. I'm not as young as I used to be."

Fontaine sighed, knowing that up until a week ago, she was wondering if they'd ever see each other again. "And speaking of, you're supposed to be letting me give you a check up." Kaiko interrupts them. "Please, Kathryn?"

"Fine fine." Kathryn pretends to pout. "I'm ok, Kaiko."

" will be ok once I can confirm that. You were in there for months." Kaiko says, and she doesn't bother to hide her concern.

"Alright then. Are you coming Fontaine?" Kathryn asked, offering her a hand.

"I would, but I really have to finish this call with Jess. She probably thinks I'm ignoring her." Fontaine laughed. "I'll come check on you soon, I promise."
