Chapter 5

After a long enterrogation I was starting to get annoyed by the blondie . She kept talking around the question , I didn't even get one clear answer .

I just sat in the corner with my hands in my hair , she was starting to give me a headache I calmly sighed,"Just stop , shut up ."

I stood up and she fell silent . It has been a harsh 24 hour enterrogation , time was up and I couldn't keep her at the police station any longer . She was free to go , for now that is .

I know she is hiding something, but I need to find out what it is . Maybe Layla would be able to tell me more about Stella Camreigh.

I decided to visit her , she was a bit surprised when she opened the door . I haven't come by in a while , she showed me in and made me some coffee .

There was a few moments of silence before I asked ,"Is it okay if I ask you something ?" She looked at me with her sweet green eyes ,"Sure , go ahead ." I swallowed nervously , what if she doesn't like the question?

She shot me a confused look ,"Why wouldn't I like the question ?"

I mentally sighed, I forgot she was a mind reader ,"Can you please tell me more about Stella Camreigh ?"

I watched as she nearly choked drinking her coffee and I know she doesn't like talking about them but I need to know more if I am going to crack this case . Her eyes shot up ,"You took the case , why ?"

I nearly face planted my head on the table realising thhat she had heard me ,"Because I don't think anyone else will be willing to take it , other police officers could easily be bribed ."

She searched my eyes but I'm not a mind reader, I don't know what she wants to tell me . Moments felt like hours before she finally spoke up ,"Okay , I'll help you . You are my friend after all . What do you want to know ?"

I almost held my breath in suspense ,"Is she married ?" She shook her head ,"No but she was engaged at a point ." I furrowed my eyebrows,"What happened , did blondie annoy him to death ?" I smiled as she chuckled lightly ,"Well the thing is no one knows , he was really a shady person . He dissapeared after the last peaceful dinned we all had together ."

One year earlier ~

Layla Victoria ~

Sal returned and took his seat , Zera put her hand to her mouth ,"Oh no , I forgot about the beef Wellington in the oven !" She was about to get up when Stella politely stopped her ,"I'll go check on it , your already doing so much for us by preparing dinner ."

Stella smiled purely and got up to go to the kitchen , Derek went with her to help . We all chatted genuinely and had a good time . After a while Stella returned and asked Arya to go help her with something , we all just continued chatting.

When it was time to eat ,Arya and Stella brought the food and nervously put it on the table. Stella nearly burned herself so we helped her . Her eyes looked red and swollen ,"Stella , are you ok ? What's wrong , where's Derek ?"

Arya snapped an answer ,"He got an urgent call and had to rush to the company ." We all accepted it because he often got urgent calls . Stella explained that she was chopping onions , and thats why she was crying .

We put on some music and went to the dance hall , yes it's quite amazing , Zera has a dance hall inside her house !

She put on the music and we all pretty much turned into highschoolers again , we danced around like the crazy people we were .

Even if it was just the eight of us its still a little party . Zera married when she was 18 , she finished her degrees in accounting and marketing before she had children . She worked for about 2 or 3 years before she had Arora, her first born .

We all danced , everyone danced with their men while me and David stood at the mini bar , Stella was standing in the corner observing everything.

I didn't drink though, Zera knew me too well . She always has some kind of alcohol free drink like juice ,ice tea , or champagne in the extra cupboard. She is very thoughtful.

Me and David ended up dancing together, Zera gave me a look and smiled . I know David likes me but I don't like him in that way .

Stella was now the only one standing at the bar , David leaned in closer but I distracted him and made Stella join us . David looked a bit upset but he quickly came over it and back to his normal self .

When David went to grab another drink , Stella pulled me aside ,"Girl , can't you see he has the hots for you ? Go for it !"she smiled widely but I looked away ,"Stella , I don't like him in that way . You know he only does things he can benifit from , I dont want him to use me and then throw me aside ."

She gave me an understanding smile ,"I dunno , but I think he is really into you ."

Ivan was sitting on the large couch in the corner of the large room , the were making out from the looks of it . I dunno if I should give David a chance , I don't think I should .

I'll just wait and see where everything goes , I don't want to stirr up unnecessary trouble for myself.

We all decided to play a game , I was hesitant because I don't drink . David smirked ,"Dont worry , we will put alcohol free drinks in there as well ."

They put out the shot glasses on the table and filled some with juice and some with alcohol. We each got a plastic ping pong ball and we had to drink whatever shot the ball landed in .

Arya was the brave one , she threw the ball and picked up her shot , she boldly downed it , she shivered like she drank something sour ,"What the hell is this David ?"

He smelled the glass and nearly coughed ,"That one is called Moonshine, very potent ." She nodded ,"I can tell ." We all bursted with laughter, we were having a good time .

We had a few turns , the first three I had was non alcoholic. I'm so glad about that . But my luck ended soon and I ended up with a shot of vodka . I felt like dying, it was the first time I ever drank alcohol.

I got used to the taste and we all went into party beast mode and went crazy . I was actually starting to think that alcohol wasn't that bad .
