Chapter 6

I was lost in thought , Rook took my hand ,"You okay Layla ? I know you hate talking about them but it might just solve the case ."

I nodded ,"Could we maybe continue talking another time ? I'm very tired ." He nodded and got up , I felt his warm hand leaving myne and it was replaced by the winter cold air .

I showed him out and felt sad , It hurts having to think back to the past . I heard my phone ringing and found it under the bed . It was a call from Terrance,

"Hey Layla , I was wondering how were feeling, can I do anything for you ?"

"Hi Terrance , I'm alright thanks for calling . By the way what noise do I hear in the background ?"

"I'm at the club , the place is almost more packed than usual ,almost like nothing happened."

"I thought that they gave us all some time off ?"

"I didn't want time off ."

"So he accepted it just like that ?"

He chuckled ,"No but I insisted , so he didn't really have another choice. The newbs here are starting to annoy me , can't wait till you come back here ."

I sighed ,"Yea , I'll be back by next week ."

"That long ?"

"Unfortunately , yes . By the way I have to go now , I'm very tired ."

"Okay , call me if you need anything."

"Thanks Terrance , bye for now ."

Rook Paxston ~

I got the reports back that I asked for , I was so hopeful that it would turn up something but it didn't .

I decided to use some of my contacts to find out personal information about Arya and Ivan , there might be clues .

I stumbled upon their gardener , he has worked for them for years . He must know something , how curious that he actually asked Ivan for the favour of hiring him after his plan to make money failed . He was also Ivan's personal assistant and his driver  , how much money did this guy make ?

I wonder what his job description is , what else did he do for Ivan ?"

"Don't you think its odd that he also was there at the club on the day of the murder ?" My wolf asked curiously.

I felt a bit existited ,"Where did you see that Dexter ?" I could almost sense my wolf giving me a mental smirk ,"The pictures that were taken that day , you have the footage of that day right ?"

I smirked and browsed through my computer for the footage . I compared the pictures , yes , now I remember ! Layla handed him his drink , I wonder if she would remember him ?

Did Ivan give the order to kill the victim ? Or did he instuct his friend to do it ?

I was completely puzzled , he could be the murderer. With Layla's statement we could send him to jail , we might just have enough evidence.

If we could get a confession from him I might just be able to solve the case.

I gathered the evidence and informed my superior, he agreed to bring him in for questioning . I hope I will have better luck than last time .

I went by the eerie nabourhood and went to the large luxurious black and white mansion. I rang the doorbell and Desi opened , I explained to her the situation and she nodded and turned around .

Desi is the babysitter for the two children and she is also the maid , she is a long thin girl with long black hair and blue eyes . Judging by her eyes I would say that she is a vamprire.

I heard footsteps and a man approached ,"Desi , who's at the door ?" Ivan calmly looked at me ,"Oh , welcome Rook . How can I help ?"

"I have some documents right here , I'll need to bring you in for questioning ."

He nodded ,"Okay , let me just grab my jacket ." I hesitantly agreed , I listened carefully , I was prepared to dash to the backdoor if he was to try and escape.

To my surprise he didn't even take long , he was back in the matter of seconds .He kissed his daughter good night and followed me to the car , I was still dumbfounded.

It was actually a pleasant ride to the station , no one jumping out of a car or trying to get away , finally some peace .

We entered the interrogation room and I sat across from him ,"What's your connection with Andrew Smith ?" He was very calm ,"He is almost like a friend to me , I hired him as a gardener but he asked if there were other things he could do for me because he desperately needed the money to take care of his family ."

I searched his eyes , not a hint of nervousness or lies , none . Is he that clean ? I rested my arm on the table ,"Why was he at the club at the time of the murder ? Did you send him there to do something ?"Ivan cratched his chin ,"To be quite frank I did ask him to do something for me ."

I mentally jumped up and down from all the exitement ,"What did you ask him to do , kill the victim ?"

He sighed ,"More like preventing a murder ." I furrowed my eyebrows,"What do you mean by that ?"
