After we hop into the car,my grandma starts the ignition and we roll down the driveway." You guys okay?"she asks as she watches the bumpy road."I'm fine." Jason says like nothing happened." I'm okay."I say realizing that we are turning into the main road. The sky is now at its natural blue that we see everyday. The trees are now turning beautiful with everyday passing." How many more days until Thanksgiving?" I ask,but know matter what it won't be the same without mom and dad. The leaves would always be there reminding us of mom and dad, but they won't be here to remind us of the fun times we had with the fallen leaves.
We arrive at the church and right away I see a huge cross, and the parking lot almost to its full capacity. my grandma finds a parking spot and parks the car. We get out to the suddenly brisk air surrounding us. I look around to see people taking to each other and staring at us." They must know what happened."Jason says in a hushed voice that only I could hear.
We walk into the brightly lighted church and I hear my name being called." Aubrey, over here!" I hear a voice that is very familiar and turn around. I see a girl waving but before I can figure out who she is she runs towards me and pulls me into a tight hug."Hi?" I say knowing that there is a hint of a question in it."Don't worry I look different then last year, I'm Brianne."She says confidently."Oh, okay now I remember you." I say trying to hide my confusion."I'm sorry about your mom and dad, I wish I could help but I'm so busy this summer." Brianne say with a tone of sadness in her voice." It's okay."I reply holding back the tears.
After the hour program is over for church, they have a breakfast buffet." Do you guys want to go in?"my grandma asked." No,it's fine." I say not wanting to have the awkward stares again. We walk back to the car and get in and drive back to her house.
