After the wedding we flew back home after spending 2 weeks in Mauritius. My mom kept bugging me, telling me certain family members were upset they weren't at the wedding. We had Umembeso, Umemulo and our traditional wedding afterwards and - to her pleasure - I invited everyone to those.
"Sthandwa sami, I bought you something," Andile said as he walked in to our bedroom. What is it now? This man has a history of just buying houses, it could be a country next. "What is it?" I sighed as I glanced at the box in his hands. He handed me the box and I opened it and laughed.
It was a pair of Nike Air Jordan 1's Off White. "You said I ruined your pair so I got you another one," he said and I just continued to laugh at him. "You spent thousands on shoes? For me?" I asked. "I would spend even more if you asked me too," he replied.
"Ngiyabonga blesser lami," I said jokingly and he looked pained. "I have been demoted to blesser Mrs Mkhize?" he asked and I giggled. "Well maybe I should show you why I deserve to be called husband," he said kissing me. God, I belonged here.
