Rosemary(edited)
I stand in the kitchen with a mug and a spoon in my hand humming as my sibling argue and scream bloody murder behind me. Christmas at home is the same every year except this time Max isn't here, but I wouldn't have it any other way. He's in love and happy. I couldn't ask for more. Actually, I could've asked Santa to take my brother and drown him in a lake but Dad said that I shouldn't write that letter because I'll end up on some FBI list.
Carter sighs against my leg as I usher us both in front of the fire with our hot cocoa. We both settle in and watch the snow fall outside with the background sounds of bodies hitting the floor meeting our ears.
"Can you two ever be in the same room calm?" My dad, William, groans as my brother and sister huff and pull apart from their fighting. Both of their spouses act like this is a regular thing....it is so I don't blame them.
"Did you and your girl make up?" Jackson plops down right onto my foot.
"You cow!" I shout and shove him off of me.
"Hey, this cow gets all the ladies!" He smacks my head.
"Dear god" I hear my dad mumble. Jackson and I begin running around the house yelling and hitting each other. We end up in the coat closet hitting each other with hangers and any shoe we find laying around. Neither of us pulls apart as the front door is opened and guests come in. The only reason we're pulled apart is because arms lift me off of Jack and he's pulled away by his wife.
"Stupid!" He flicks me off as he yells at me.
"Yeah well, at least I didn't push the Christmas tree over the DAY before Santa came!" I flick him off with both of my fingers and stick my tongue out at him. That dumb whore.
"Rosemary, baby hello." I freeze as the voice registers in my mind. I turn and smile sweetly up at my girlfriend. I glance around quickly to notice that it's just her here, I guess everyone else is in the living room.
"Well isn't this a Christmas surprise," Carter says as he drinks his coco. I laugh and shake my head. You would think he's grown the way he acts and talks sometimes.
"Merry Christmas" I breathe out as I wrap my arms around her and grin up at her.
"Merry Christmas Baby" She kisses my forehead before shaking her head at me. We pull apart as she gives my family her full attention with gifts she's brought for them. I settle back behind Carter as they all open their gifts.
Ophelia catches my eye every once in a while throughout the night as she bonds with my family. Winking at me, checking me out, or gesturing to the bathroom. I often roll my eyes or blush. I know my mother is supposed to come but nothing-
"Someone just pulled in the driveway" My sister notes.
-yet.
"Rosemary, Hi sweetie!" My mom gushes as her husband shakes hands with my dads.
"Hi," I wave as we clean up the wrapping paper before we eat dinner. It's a little after Christmas Christmas unwrapping since that holiday was a few days ago. "Help me take this out?" I glance out at Ophelia as she jumps up to help me. We make our way out to the dumpster and toss the bags inside.
"What's wrong my little elf?" She grins at her short joke and yelps as I smack her arm a few times. "Maybe I should've asked Santa for a new girlfriend, damn" She rubs her arm and glares at me.
"Please do and see what happens next year." I huff and look up at her. "Where's my kiss?" I pucker my lips up at her and wait. I hear her chuckle and sigh.
