Maya's eyes shot open as she remembered the escapades of last night. As she woke up, the room was bright, indicating that it was indeed morning, or maybe afternoon, she wasn't quite sure. Though as she started becoming more aware of her surroundings, she felt Carina's hand on her waist which is when she noticed that the brunette was still in a deep sleep, looking adorable.
They didn't really go any further from that heated make out session last night, however, Maya thought about how they almost did. She thought what this could mean. Though, for now, she took a decision of getting out of bed and hoping to find the right equipment in an unknown kitchen, so she could make Carina some coffee.
She managed to get out of bed without waking Carina up, tiptoeing around the room, trying to fully draw the curtains so Carina wouldn't wake up.
She assumed Amelia would be at work by now, so she made her way out of the brunette's room confidently.
"Oh hey, Delucs." Jo said, without looking behind her, sitting on the counter, sipping her coffee. Maya froze. She thought about how she could just go back to the room and she turned around.
"Oh wait, you're not Delucs." Jo now said, looking at Maya's back as she froze again. Maya turned around to be met with Jo having the biggest smirk on her face.
"I thought you were at work." Maya barely said as she decided to just walk into the kitchen, knowing it was too late to go back and pretend nothing happened.
"I was until an hour ago. And then my shift ended. You tell me. How was last night?" Jo said smirking throughout, pouring Maya a cup of coffee at the same time.
"Uh yeah, it-it was good." Maya said without even looking at Jo, as her eyes were fixated on the counter.
Jo was about to grill her further but then they heard Carina's bedroom door open. That made Maya nervous as they could have to potentially face the reality of last night now. But to her and Jo's surprise, Carina walked out, fully dressed, looking like she was heading somewhere.
"Morning Delucs, where....are you going?" Jo asked her, also throwing a glance at Maya at the same time.
"Um, I'm going to meet Aldo." Carina said nonchalantly. Jo stopped drinking her coffee to stare at Carina for a few seconds before she turned to Maya, who had been left shocked by this information as well.
"Alright, that's- that's good. You want to meet him?" Jo asked carefully, knowing Maya was also confused by what was happening.
"Of course, he is my husband after all." And with that Carina just left the apartment leaving both Jo and Maya in shock. Jo would have killed to have Amelia next to her but she had to deal with this alone.
"Maya you should know-" Jo began to speak and then was immediately cut off by Maya; " I know. I'm okay honestly. I was a fool to even think that this could work. She- she has a life. She's someone's wife after all." Maya said, her voice almost breaking apart.
Jo's heart ached for Maya. She didn't expect that from Carina, to her and Amelia, the only brightside of Carina's accident was that they could finally be getting rid of Aldo.
"Maya, she's been through a lot. There's a lot going on in her head that we don't even know about. Just- I know she likes you. It's not my place to say, but I've seen it." Jo said.
"Except she doesn't, Jo. You and I both know that she has a husband. I mean maybe she likes me right know but what happens when she gets her memory back. Then I'd become a memory, when she goes back to her old life." Maya said, her agitation evident. She sighed right after.
"Why am I rambling. We've hardly spent one night together. It probably didn't mean anything to her. I should - I should leave. Thanks for having me Jo." Maya said and immediately got up to leave.
