"Why were you flirting with Carina?" Maya asked Vic as Carina had excused herself to go to the bathroom.

"Why? Is she your girlfriend?" Vic asked smugly.

"No, but she is someone's wife."  Maya said in her defence.

"Then why the fuck are you flirting with her? Last I checked, you're doing a lot more than just flirting with her." Vic said as she smirked.

"I will slap that smirk off of your face, shut up." Maya said. "On a serious note, I don't know what to do. I really like her but the situation is so complicated." She added sadly.

"Well I truly think she likes you too. I've met her for what, 10 minutes, and the way she looked at you, the way she paid attention to whatever the fuck that you kept blabbering about my health; she cares Maya. A lot." Vic explained.

Maya knew she cared. She could sense it, but she also knew that the next weeks weren't going to be easy. She had involved herself with a married woman. Ethically, it was the wrong thing to do. But Aldo was probably a big asshole, so she knew somewhere that it was fair. Her feeling were fair. But the woman that she was falling in love with, could regain her memory fully at any given point, and she could choose to go back to that man.

"Are you okay?" Jo asked Carina who had dragged the nurse to the nearest supply closet.

"No. I mean I guess but I don't know." Carina rambled, confusing Jo.

Jo grabbed Carina's shoulder and made her stay still. "What's going on?" She asked softly.

"Last night I had said something about Aldo and my relationship to Maya. I told her how he has always been distant and not interested." Carina began to speak but Jo had interrupted by shrieking with excitement.

"Oh my god. You remember?" Jo asked happily.

"I recognise him to be a distant person, yes. However, I do not remember every detail. I don't." Carina said with disappointment.

"Car, you're getting there. This is happy news." Jo tried to comfort her.

"It's not happy news when I'm married to Aldo, I don't remember anything about my best friends, I don't know what the fuck is on with my brother and my husband, and it is certainly not happy news that in the midst of all this, I- I'm falling in love with Maya." Carina said making Jo shoot her eyes up with that last sentence.

"You what?" Jo asked to confirm whether Carina had actually said it.

"If you tell someone I'll kill you, but yes- I'm falling in love with Maya. Maybe I'm not there fully, but I know these are hard feelings." Carina said shyly.

Jo instantly hugged Carina, she was proud of her best friend and the fact that she had the guts to admit it.

"I'm a married woman who has fallen in love with a woman I met barely a month ago." Carina said shedding a tear on Jo's shoulder.

"You're a woman who has fallen in love." Jo whispered as she continued to hug the brunette.

Two weeks later

Things were...stagnant. The situation was quite the same. Maya and Carina's bond however, had exceeded their own expectations. They had spent most of their time together. Carina had moved out of Aldo's place and moved back in with Amelia and Jo. Aldo did try to question it, however, he couldn't get very far as there was an army having Carina's back.

"You look beautiful." Carina said to a sleepy Maya, as they were both wrapped up in a blanket on a rainy Sunday.

"I'm literally just sleeping." Maya said with a blush on her face, though her eyes were still closed.
